Remote Marketing Planning focuses on creating strategic marketing initiatives, while Remote Content Marketing emphasizes producing content to attract and retain customers. Both roles often collaborate but serve different functions within marketing teams.

How does a remote marketing planning professional typically collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop effective campaigns?

As a Remote Marketing Planning professional, you'll frequently coordinate with teams such as sales, product development, and creative design using digital collaboration tools like Slack, Asana, or Zoom. Effective communication and project management are essential, as you'll need to align campaign objectives, timelines, and deliverables across various stakeholders who may also be working remotely. Regular virtual meetings, shared project documents, and clear reporting structures help ensure everyone stays on track and campaign goals are met. Being proactive in reaching out and clarifying expectations is key to overcoming the challenges of remote collaboration.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote marketing planner, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote Marketing Planner, you need strong analytical abilities, strategic thinking, and experience in marketing campaign development, often supported by a degree in marketing or a related field. Familiarity with digital marketing platforms, project management tools like Asana or Trello, and analytics software such as Google Analytics is typically required. Outstanding communication, organization, and self-motivation are vital soft skills for managing remote collaboration and meeting deadlines. These skills and qualifications are crucial for developing effective marketing strategies, ensuring project success, and maintaining productivity in a remote work environment.

What is remote marketing planning?

Remote marketing planning involves creating, organizing, and overseeing marketing strategies and campaigns while working from a location outside of a traditional office environment. Professionals in this role use digital tools to collaborate with team members, analyze market trends, and develop plans that reach target audiences effectively. Remote marketing planners often coordinate with stakeholders, manage budgets, and monitor campaign performance to ensure goals are met. This setup allows for flexibility in work location while maintaining strong communication and project management.

Join us to put AI to work for people.

Job Description

What you get to do in this role:

  • Operate as the program-management engine of Marketing's planning system and turn organizational problems into solutions. When a cross-functional gap surfaces (for example, "we can't measure ROI because spend data is unreliable"), you'll run intake, drive root-cause analysis, draft the problem statement, and build a first-cut solution and proposal for leadership review.
  • Run the mechanics of the planning operating rhythm (MOR, QBR, Monthly Forecast, OKR updates). Agendas land ahead of time, pre-reads are tight, decisions get logged, and follow-ups don't drop.
  • Implement scalable processes that help us plan and manage work spanning Strategy, Resources, and Governance. You'll be the forcing function that gets cross-team process work done on schedule, working alongside the functional owners who execute it.
  • Identify connections and reconcile possible collisions across planning inputs, cycles, and cross-functional dependencies with BizOps, GTM Ops, Analytics, and FP&A.
  • Ensure transparency, alignment, and clear communication of planning status, decisions, and cycle milestones across Marketing leadership and cross-functional partners.
  • You'll gather the business requirements for our planning data layer (spend data, aggregated investment views, program-to-headcount views), define the end-to-end build plan, and drive it to completion across the owning teams. You own the requirements and the timeline. you are not the builder.
  • Contribute to the development of the strategic planning operations function. Share back the practices, frameworks, and tools that work so the function scales beyond any single cycle.
Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience using or critically thinking about how to integrate AI into work processes, decision-making, or problem-solving. This may include using AI-powered tools, automating workflows, analyzing AI-driven insights, or exploring AI's potential impact on the function.
  • 7+ years of project/program management experience in mid/large size companies, ideally in a marketing, GTM, or operations environment.
  • Drives programs without authority: gets senior, cross-functional stakeholders to commit and hit dates without owning them.
  • Converts ambiguity into structure. Takes a vague "this is broken" and produces a sharp problem statement, options, and a proposal.
  • Business fluency to spec, not to execute: reads a budget and variance view and understands ROI logic well enough to define what analytics and finance need. Does not need to be a finance or analytics expert.
  • Models change-agent behavior by coaching peers to buy in, and by communicating new scalable solutions that improve execution across the organization.
  • Educates cross-functional peers about the planning discipline and advocates for its value.

For positions in this location, we offer a base pay of $126,800 - $221,900, plus equity (when applicable), variable/incentive compensation and benefits. Sales positions generally offer a competitive On Target Earnings (OTE) incentive compensation structure. Please note that the base pay shown is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies, and work location. We also offer health plans, including flexible spending accounts, a 401(k) Plan with company match, ESPP, matching donations, a flexible time away plan and family leave programs. Compensation is based on the geographic location in which the role is located and is subject to change based on work location.
