Candidates for this position should be located within an hour of a major International Airport.
Summary:
The incumbent in this job works as the sole Voith representative in front of customers. A mindset of customer satisfaction, quality service and safety first are required. The incumbent creates a long term trustful relationship with customers where the technical solutions are provided to meet customer business needs.
Responsibilities:
  • Examine, Inspect, troubleshoot, disassemble, reassemble, overhaul and perform general maintenance on all Voith Marine products, including but not limited to Voith Schneider Propeller, Inline thruster, linear jets.
  • Perform dock trial and sea trials upon completion of work.
  • Execute and lead task with great level of Safety standards.
  • Provide supervisory assistance during commissioning, preventative maintenance, emergency repairs and troubleshooting services for Voith products in shipboard use.
  • Act as the project manager of the entire job in order to secure the service timeline.
  • Provide customer support to operators via in person, phone and/or email.
  • Work as part of product group team to achieve/exceed service objectives.
  • Provide documented service analysis and reports on both preventative maintenance and failure situations.
  • Provide service support for direct sales force.
  • Complete special projects as assigned by the Service Manager.
  • Some international travel outside of North America.
  • Promote after-sales business, as upgrades, maintenance programs

Qualifications:
  • Significant marine mechanical power transmission experience
  • Shipboard or Maritime experience
  • Ability to assume supervisory role of mechanical projects and direct assistance.
  • Strong organizational skills to prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Good written and oral communication skills; ability to clearly and concisely relay information to customers in writing (Service Reports) and phone conversations.
  • Ability to build and maintain successful working relationships with customers.
  • 24/7 days per week availability
  • Confident decision maker
  • USCG - United States Coast Guard License preferred
  • Ability to read and understand technical manuals and drawings.
  • Two year college/technical school degree
  • At least five years of experience working in the Marine Industry.
  • Instructor/trainer experience.
  • Fully fluent in English with very good communication skill. Knowledge of Spanish is an asset
  • Good knowledge of MS-Office
