Job description

Mind Computing is seeking a full-time, 100% remote Functional Tester to support a Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) project. The ideal candidate will have experience in software testing and quality assurance, with responsibilities including executing test plans, validating application functionality, documenting defects, and supporting regression and user acceptance testing (UAT) in an Agile environment. Candidates should have experience testing web-based applications and familiarity with tools such as Jira or Azure DevOps.
Responsibilities:
  • Develop test plans and test cases based on business requirements and technical specifications.
  • Execute manual and automated tests to identify defects and ensure the software meets quality standards.
  • Report bugs and issues to the development team, providing detailed information and steps to reproduce the problem.
  • Conduct regression testing to ensure new code changes do not adversely affect existing functionalities.
  • Document test cases, test results, and defects to support development and maintenance.
  • Work closely with developers, QA analysts, and other team members to ensure seamless integration and testing.
  • Conduct performance testing to ensure the software meets performance criteria and benchmarks.
  • Stay updated with the latest testing tools and techniques and implement improvements in the testing process.
  • Participate in and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to validate end-to-end business workflows.
  • Contribute to team objectives and take on additional responsibilities as needed.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of proven experience as a Functional Tester or similar role.
  • Proficiency in testing tools (e.g., Selenium, JIRA, Jenkins), scripting languages (e.g., Java, Python), and SQL.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to solve complex technical problems.
  • Hands-on experience with SAFe/Agile frameworks and practices.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.
