Job Id: QA Tester – Bilingual

QA Tester

Client: CT DSS
Location: Hybrid, 55 Farmington Ave.   Hartford,  Connecticut

Duration: 12+ Months

Job Description:

The Connecticut Department of Social Services (DSS) is seeking an experienced QA Test Analyst with expertise in manual and automation testing to support mission-critical enterprise applications that deliver essential services to Connecticut residents.

A significant need for this position is the testing and validation of Spanish-language functionality and content. Therefore, professional proficiency in both English and Spanish is highly important for this assignment.

The selected tester will be expected to perform functional QA activities involving Spanish-language screens, correspondence, notices, messages, workflows, and other resident-facing content. The tester must be capable of independently reviewing Spanish-language content for functional accuracy, consistency, completeness, and alignment with the approved English-language requirements and expected business outcomes.

  • Ability to interpret business requirements and convert them into detailed test scenarios and test cases
  • Experience working within Agile/Scrum development environments
  • Experience using Jira for defect tracking and Agile project management

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform hands-on manual and automated testing across multiple enterprise applications.
  • Perform dedicated testing and validation of Spanish-language application functionality and resident-facing content.
  • Compare Spanish-language functionality and content against approved English requirements and expected business outcomes.
  • Validate Spanish screens, correspondence, notices, messages, forms, labels, instructions, and application workflows.
  • Develop comprehensive test scenarios, test cases, and automated test scripts based on business and technical requirements.
  • Develop test scenarios specifically addressing Spanish-language functionality and content.
  • Review business requirements, user stories, functional specifications, technical documentation, and design documents to identify testing needs.

  • Document test execution results and communicate testing progress to project leadership.
  • Identify, document, prioritize, and manage software defects through resolution.

  • Participate in defect triage meetings and validate software fixes.
  • Ensure complete traceability between business requirements, test cases, and executed tests through the Requirements Traceability Matrix (RTM).
  • Collaborate closely with developers, business analysts, architects, project managers, vendors, and State business stakeholders.
