Remote Managed Service Provider information

What is a remote managed service provider?

A Remote Managed Service Provider (MSP) is a company or team that remotely manages a business's IT infrastructure and end-user systems. MSPs handle tasks like network monitoring, cybersecurity, data backup, and technical support, all from an offsite location. This allows businesses to focus on their core operations while experienced professionals maintain and secure their technology. Remote MSPs typically offer their services on a subscription basis, providing proactive support and minimizing downtime.

How does a remote managed service provider typically collaborate with client IT teams to ensure seamless service delivery?

Remote Managed Service Providers (MSPs) work closely with client IT teams through regular communication, ticketing systems, and scheduled virtual meetings to align on goals, resolve issues, and implement new technologies. They often use remote monitoring and management tools to proactively detect and address problems, minimizing downtime for clients. Successful collaboration involves clear documentation, shared protocols, and frequent updates, ensuring both the MSP and client teams are informed and responsive. Building trust and maintaining transparency are key to fostering strong partnerships and achieving seamless service delivery.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote managed service provider, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote Managed Service Provider, you need strong IT troubleshooting skills, a solid understanding of network and system administration, and relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE). Familiarity with remote monitoring and management (RMM) tools, ticketing systems, and cybersecurity solutions is typically required. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and time management skills help professionals coordinate with clients and resolve issues efficiently. These abilities are critical for delivering reliable support, maintaining system uptime, and ensuring client satisfaction in a remote environment.

Job description

Coral Connect, LLC (“Coral”) is a technology-enabled service provider focused on reducing healthcare costs through intelligent data management, pharmacy optimization, and value-driven sourcing. Our mission is to make specialty care more accessible, efficient, and equitable by improving operations at community care organizations, infusion centers, and specialty providers.

Job Overview:

Coral is building the operating system for healthcare group purchasing and procurement. Our platform delivers contract intelligence, purchasing discipline, and financial recoupment as a fully managed service to health systems and specialty providers.

As we scale, we are seeking a Director, Procurement to lead the development and execution of our procurement-as-a-service pillar—from strategy through client delivery.

This role spans three interconnected functions: upstream GPO and distribution sourcing strategy, industry relations across Coral’s contract and data portfolio, and end-to-end customer management from acquisition through account growth. Over time, this leader will build and scale a standalone sourcing and procurement-as-a-service offering for organizations looking to fully outsource industry relations and centralized procurement to Coral.

The ideal candidate is a seasoned GPO or healthcare supply chain individual who thrives in a high-growth environment and is energized by building a differentiated offering from the ground up.

Responsibilities:

  • Build and scale Coral’s procurement-as-a-service offering, including both consulting and managed service models
  • Develop sourcing strategies across GPO and distribution channels to optimize client outcomes
  • Establish and grow relationships with both member and non-member organizations, identifying new partnership and revenue opportunities
  • Lead industry relations across Coral’s full contract and data portfolio, including manufacturers, distributors, and GPO partners
  • Oversee GPO contract portfolio management, including optimization and performance tracking
  • Structure and manage enhanced data service agreements and data monetization programs
  • Administer post-administrative discount programs and ensure accurate financial recoupment for clients
  • Design and operationalize processes, systems, and teams to support implementation and ongoing account management
  • Own end-to-end client lifecycle, from acquisition through retention and expansion, in partnership with the VP, Client Strategy.

Qualifications:

  • 5-8 years of experience in healthcare supply chain, procurement, or group purchasing (GPO), with a strong track record of leading sourcing strategy, contract negotiations, and supplier relationships at scale
  • Proven leadership experience within a GPO, health system, distributor, or healthcare services organization, including building and scaling teams, programs, or business units
  • Deep expertise in GPO contracting structures, administrative fees, rebate/discount programs, and procurement operations, including vendor management and contract lifecycle management
  • Experience working closely with manufacturers, distributors, and health system stakeholders, with established credibility and relationship-building skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage client relationships end-to-end, including executive-level stakeholders, with a focus on retention, growth, and value delivery
  • Strong financial and analytical acumen, with experience driving cost savings, margin optimization, and data-informed decision-making; familiarity with data monetization or analytics-driven procurement is a plus
  • Experience designing or delivering managed services or outsourced solutions is preferred
  • Player-coach mindset with the ability to operate both strategically and tactically in a high-growth, ambiguous environment
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to partner effectively across product, data, and commercial teams
  • Entrepreneurial, results-oriented, and comfortable building from zero to one with a high degree of ownership and accountability
  • Industry experience with drug spend management, sourcing, cost management, and other procurement tools is preferrable

Education:

Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience is required.

Job Benefits:

Health, Dental, Vision, Life, 401k, Paid Time Off.

Location:

Remote with limited travel to client locations, internal business meetings, and other locations as needed.
