About the role you\'re considering

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead and oversee complex mainframe software migration projects, ensuring successful execution and seamless integration with business processes. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in IBM Mainframe technologies, including zOS, AS400, JCL, COBOL, REXX, and SAS, along with a strong background in project management, stakeholder management, risk assessment, and cost optimization. This role requires exceptional leadership skills to inspire teams, build relationships with stakeholders, and drive process improvements.

Location

This is a remote job opportunity which will require some travel to client sites across North America. The selected candidate must be located in either the US or Canada.

Your role
  • Provide project management of software migration projects for clients on the IBM Z platform
  • Consult with management and review project proposals to determine goals, time frame, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing project, and allocation of resources
  • Analyze the need for and provide the necessary project management for project planning, execution (including the development of project plans)
  • Report on project activities, changes in scope, challenges and requirements to the leadership team as a strategic tool in keeping implementers and decision makers moving toward consistent, business or mission-focused goals and objectives
  • Communicate with management internally and at the customer on ongoing status, milestones, and project risks
  • Review and analyze process & procedures in order to find opportunities for improvement and increased efficiencies, then help drive implementation of these improvements
  • Monitor, assess, and improve the effectiveness of program best practices, ensuring continual process and quality improvement with a primary focus on the client account
Your skills and experience
  • IBM Z Mainframe experience
  • Experience managing IBM Z software migration projects and cross-functional technical teams across scope, cost, schedule, risk, and contractual deliverables
  • Experience with coordinating workstreams to replace competitive / ISV products with IBM solutions
  • At least five years of technical project management experience
  • PMP or PRINCE2 certification, with demonstrated knowledge of operations and project management skills
  • Experience managing cross-functional technical teams, with overall responsibility for managing scope, cost, schedule, and contractual deliverables, which includes applying techniques for planning, tracking, change control, and risk management
  • Strong stakeholder communication, status reporting, risk management, and governance
  • Demonstrated excellent written and communication skills

The base compensation range for this role in the posted location is: $125,000 - $188,000

Capgemini provides compensation range information in accordance with applicable national, state, provincial, and local pay transparency laws. The base compensation range listed for this position reflects the minimum and maximum target compensation Capgemini, in good faith, believes it may pay for the role at the time of this posting. This range may be subject to change as permitted by law.

The actual compensation offered to any candidate may fall outside of the posted range and will be determined based on multiple factors legally permitted in the applicable jurisdiction.

These may include, but are not limited to: Geographic location, Education and qualifications, Certifications and licenses, Relevant experience and skills, Seniority and performance, Market and business consideration, Internal pay equity.

It is not typical for candidates to be hired at or near the top of the posted compensation range.

In addition to base salary, this role may be eligible for additional compensation such as variable incentives, bonuses, or commissions, depending on the position and applicable laws.
