Core Healing Counseling is seeking a dedicated and passionate Mental Health Counselor to join our team in a fully remote capacity. As a Mental Health Counselor at Core Healing Counseling, you will be responsible for:

• Conducting comprehensive assessments and mental health screenings using standardized tools to accurately evaluate patient needs and develop individualized treatment plans.
• Providing short-term and long-term individual counseling sessions via telehealth, utilizing therapeutic models tailored to diverse mental health conditions including anxiety, depression, and trauma-related issues.
• Facilitating engaging therapy groups and educational workshops that promote resilience, emotional regulation, and self-awareness among patients.
• Collaborating with community organizations and other healthcare professionals to enhance patient services and support comprehensive care programs.
• Participating in outreach initiatives aiming to increase mental health awareness and promote accessible resources for underserved communities in the St. Petersburg area.
• Maintaining precise and secure patient records, ensuring adherence to ethical guidelines and regulations governing our practice.

The Counseling Center serves a diverse patient population, including adolescents, adults, and families facing a variety of mental health challenges. Counselors will be tasked with addressing culturally-specific needs and providing competent care informed by the unique backgrounds of our clients. This role is integral in facilitating recovery and resilience in patients pursuing meaningful and lasting change.

To qualify for this position, candidates must possess:

• A current state license, such as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), or a Doctor of Psychology (PsyD).
• A bachelor’s degree; a master’s degree or higher in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field is preferred.
• Proficiency in evidence-based counseling practices, crisis intervention techniques, and familiarity with brief therapy models suitable for a remote counseling approach.
• Strong interpersonal skills to effectively engage with a diverse patient base and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams.

• A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in mental health counseling, particularly in telehealth settings or hospital environments.
• A demonstrated track record of working successfully with patients experiencing a wide range of mental health disorders, as well as complex emotional and behavioral challenges.
