Work EnvironmentThis remote position allows flexibility in scheduling, with occasional evening hours required during peak counseling periods. As part of our team, you will work closely with students, faculty, and administration, utilizing advanced telehealth platforms and digital communication tools to ensure effective and confidential service delivery. You will also have access to comprehensive resources aimed at enhancing therapeutic effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct thorough intake assessments and screenings to evaluate the mental health needs of students, identifying appropriate treatment options tailored to individual circumstances.
- Provide compassionate short-term individual counseling and crisis intervention services for students facing a variety of issues, facilitating resolution through tailored therapeutic approaches.
- Facilitate therapy groups and workshops that focus on mental health topics and personal development skills, promoting peer support and community engagement among students.
- Collaborate with academic advisors, residential life coordinators, and student organizations to develop a comprehensive, integrated support system for student well-being.
- Engage in outreach initiatives, including mental health awareness campaigns and wellness activities, to build a culture that emphasizes the importance of mental health on campus.
- Maintain professional records in compliance with ethical guidelines and legal requirements, ensuring confidentiality and security for all counseling interactions.
Your primary clients will include high school and college students experiencing various mental health challenges, from anxiety and depression to stress management and relationship issues. Understanding the unique dynamics of this age group, particularly in a school environment, is crucial to provide effective support and foster resilience.
Qualifications- An active license as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), Clinical Psychologist, or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).
- A Master's or Doctoral degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a closely related field.
- Demonstrated understanding of the specific mental health needs of college students, with a focus on developing supportive strategies that cater to their unique challenges.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling you to connect with students from diverse backgrounds and collaborate effectively within the campus community.
- Knowledge of evidence-based therapy modalities and brief intervention strategies suitable for a rapid-response setting like a university counseling center.
- Adept at multitasking in a fast-paced environment while managing a diverse caseload of students seeking support.
- A minimum of two years of experience in a mental health counseling setting, preferably working with adolescents or young adults.
- Experience in developing and leading group therapy sessions, as well as creating workshops that address mental health and well-being.
- Previous involvement in outreach programming or mental health advocacy within school settings is highly desirable.
- Competitive salary ranging from USD 70,000 to 100,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications.
