We are seeking a dedicated and fully licensed Mental Health Therapist to become an essential part of our dynamic school counseling center located in Park Ridge, Illinois. Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough intake assessments and screenings for students to accurately gauge their mental health needs and formulate tailored treatment plans.
  • Offer short-term, evidence-based individual counseling and crisis intervention services to students experiencing a variety of mental health challenges, including anxiety, depression, and adjustment issues.
  • Facilitate and lead therapy groups and workshops focused on enhancing well-being, self-awareness, and coping skills pertinent to the student experience.
  • Collaborate with faculty, staff, and student organizations to implement cohesive support systems, ensuring that our interventions align with academic resources and accommodation services.
  • Engage in proactive outreach efforts including organizing mental health awareness campaigns, wellness events, and workshops that promote a culture of well-being on campus.
  • Maintain meticulous and confidential records, adhering strictly to ethical guidelines and compliance standards to protect student information.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Your work will primarily focus on a diverse student client population, ranging from first-year undergraduates to senior students. Understanding their unique stressors, transitional challenges, and personal development needs will be vital in delivering effective mental health services. By fostering a supportive therapeutic relationship, you will empower students to navigate their emotional landscapes and academic pressures successfully.

Qualifications
  • An active license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) is required.
  • A Master's or Doctoral degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a closely related field is essential.
  • A deep understanding of the mental health challenges prevalent among college students is fundamental.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills are necessary for connecting with students and collaborating effectively with a diverse educational community.
  • Knowledge of evidence-based practices and therapy models tailored for a university counseling setting is required.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing a diverse caseload with various mental health concerns.
Preferred Experience
  • Previous experience working within a higher education setting or a school counseling environment is preferred.
  • Familiarity with telehealth platforms and digital therapeutic tools will be advantageous.
