Job description

UX/UI Designer
Job Overview
TauRx Therapeutics is seeking a talented and user-centric UX/UI Designer to join our innovative team. This is a remote position with both full-time and part-time opportunities available. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing engaging and intuitive digital experiences that support our mission to combat Alzheimer's disease and other neurodegenerative disorders. You will play a crucial role in translating complex scientific requirements into clean, effective, and user-friendly interfaces for our researchers, clinical partners, and stakeholders. This is a unique opportunity to apply your design skills to a field with a profound impact on global health.
About Us
TauRx was established to address one of the world's biggest challenges - beating Alzheimer's disease and other degenerative brain disorders through a completely new approach. A leader in Alzheimer's research, our mission is to discover, develop and commercialise innovative products for the diagnosis, treatment, and cure of neurodegenerative disorders. Our strong research team, supported through cooperative relationships with multiple academic institutions around the world, has focussed on the tau pathway. Our novel tau aggregation inhibitors (TAIs) target the formation of tau protein 'tangles' in the brain, with our lead compound having shown a strong pharmacological effect in early trials.
Key Responsibilities
• Translate complex concepts and scientific data into intuitive user flows, wireframes, mock-ups, and prototypes.
• Design and deliver elegant and user-friendly interfaces for web and mobile applications.
• Conduct user research, interviews, and usability testing to inform design decisions and gather valuable feedback.
• Collaborate effectively with product managers, software developers, and scientific researchers to define and implement innovative solutions.
• Create and maintain a consistent design system, style guides, and UI pattern libraries across all our digital products.
• Present and articulate design concepts and solutions to internal teams and key stakeholders.
• Champion user-centred design principles and best practices throughout the organisation.
Qualifications and Skills
• Proven experience as a UX/UI Designer or in a similar role, supported by a strong portfolio showcasing your design process and visual skills.
• Proficiency in standard design and prototyping software (e.g., Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD).
• A solid understanding of user-centred design principles, user research methodologies, and usability best practices.
• Exceptional visual design skills with a keen eye for detail, typography, and colour.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to clearly explain design choices.
• The ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a fully remote environment.
• Experience designing for healthcare, life sciences, or complex data visualisation is highly desirable but not essential.
What We Offer
• A competitive hourly rate of $25 - $35 USD.
• A fully remote working arrangement.
• Flexible working options with both full-time and part-time contracts available.
• The opportunity to make a significant contribution to pioneering research in neurodegenerative disease.
• A collaborative and forward-thinking work culture.
