Job description

JOB SUMMARYThe Creative Execution Designer is a freelance practitioner who supports PNAV's creative team across both planned initiatives and short-notice requests. This role is execution-focused rather than conceptual: the designer works within PNAV's established brand systems and approved campaign concepts, taking direction from internal creative and account leads, though it requires enough design judgment to elevate work, not just produce it. The role centers on quick tactical execution. Project(s) can arrive with compressed timelines, and availability and responsiveness are as important as design skills. Core deliverables include PowerPoint decks, brochures, and booklets, along with campaign adaptations and other print, digital, and presentation materials. The expectation across every piece or work is that they should look unmistakably like the brand it belongs to, with no drift toward the designer's personal aesthetic.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Apply established brand systems and approved campaign concepts to produce finished, polished deliverables, including PowerPoint decks, brochures, and booklets
  • Execute approved concepts and visual systems accurately across print, digital, and presentation deliverables
  • Use established color logic, iconography, typography, and layout systems consistently across every piece
  • Adapt and version creative across formats, sizes, and channels while maintaining a cohesive visual language
  • Build custom diagrams, charts, and data visualizations within the brand system that improve comprehension and engagement
Production & Revision Support
  • Work from varied inputs like working files, marked-up drafts, or revision requests accompanied by verbal direction
  • Carry pieces through revision cycles efficiently and accurately, including changes driven by medical, legal, and regulatory (MLR) review
  • Implement MLR and client revisions precisely, including required elements such as fair balance, ISI, and referencing, without disrupting the design
  • Prepare organized, editable, release-ready files for print vendors, digital channels, and internal teams
  • Maintain clean file hygiene: layered source files, linked assets, and consistent naming that PNAV teams can build upon
Quality Elevation
  • Strengthen every piece beyond simple production: refine layouts, sharpen visual hierarchy, enforce consistency, and improve readability
  • Proactively catch off-brand colors, inconsistent treatments, and stray formatting without being prompted
  • Ensure all content is clearly and professionally presented before handoff
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Adhere to project scopes, responsibilities, and timelines; proactively flag risks or capacity concerns to the team
  • Communicate variances in a timely manner
  • Confirm receipt of requests promptly
  • Maintain organized, accurate working files and assets across active projects
  • Keep internal leads informed of all relevant project developments
WORKING RELATIONSHIPSInternal:
  • Takes direction from internal creative lead(s). Collaborates with the creative team on executional details and with content and strategy team members whose materials the role helps bring to finished form. All deliverables are returned as fully editable source files that PNAV teams can build upon.
External:
  • No direct client relationship ownership. Work product is client-facing, but client communication and reviews are managed by PNAV internal teams. May occasionally interface with print vendors on production specifications as directed.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • Remote and/or in-office engagement depending on the needs of the project
  • Supports both planned initiatives and short-notice requests
  • Travel terms as required by the terms and needs of the project
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & EDUCATIONRequired
  • Several years of dedicated design and production experience, whether from an agency, an in-house creative team, or an established freelance practice, with a body of finished, in-market work to show for it
  • Fluency in Adobe Creative Suite: InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator with demonstrated proficiency in InDesign
  • Working knowledge of PowerPoint; able to produce and refine polished deck deliverables
  • Command of production fundamentals: setting up files correctly for print and digital, managing templates and libraries, and delivering fully editable source files that remain usable by PNAV
  • Strong design fundamentals: hierarchy, alignment, typography, spacing, and sensible use of color
  • Exceptional attention to detail; proactively catches off-brand and inconsistent elements
  • Takes direction well, asks clarifying questions early rather than guessing, and handles feedback without friction, including feedback driven by regulatory constraints rather than aesthetics
  • Reliability is key: communicates honestly, confirms requests promptly, and holds committed deadlines, including quick tactical turnarounds and the occasional same-day or next-morning request
Preferred
  • Experience in healthcare or pharmaceutical marketing, including familiarity with the MLR review process and fair balance and ISI requirements
  • Experience in Figma
  • Experience producing congress and convention materials, sales aids, and detail pieces
  • Experience supporting new business pitches and proposal materials
