Responsibilities
Early Learning Specialist - Home-based Day Cares:
Help shape brighter futures for young children and the caregivers who support them.
Join our early childhood team as an Early Learning Specialist with ParentChild+, where you'll partner with home-based child care providers to create engaging, nurturing learning environments for preschool-aged children. Through coaching, mentoring, and family engagement, you'll help strengthen early learning opportunities and connect providers and families to valuable community resources.
What You'll Do
  • Coach and support home-based child care providers in fostering children's early development and school readiness.
  • Model effective early learning strategies and share child development knowledge.
  • Encourage family engagement and utilize developmental screening tools to support children's growth.
  • Build relationships with community partners and connect families to helpful resources.
  • Participate in outreach, networking, training, and team collaboration.

Who You Are
  • Passionate about early childhood development and supporting families.
  • Comfortable building relationships and coaching adult learners.
  • Committed to strengths-based, culturally responsive practices.
  • Strong communicator who can work independently and as part of a team.
  • Organized, tech-savvy, and able to document services accurately.

35 hours/week, Monday-Friday, September-June. Pay is $18.50/hour.

Qualifications
Qualifications
  • Background in early childhood education, family engagement, or a related field through education and/or experience.
  • Valid NYS Driver's License with reliable transportation for travel throughout Onondaga County.
  • Moderate computer literacy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to conduct visits in home-based child care settings which may not meet Federal accessibility standards for disabled individuals.
