Vangarde specializes in commercial mediation and UCC lien enforcement solutions. We guarantee our clients the highest level of recovery for secured assets, and where possible, effectively mediate lien releases. A mediated solution is often pursued between parties if collateral surrender is not obtainable.

You will perform the tasks of managing a broad range of Legal matters including, but not limited to, drafting, reviewing, negotiating, helping close, and maintaining commercial contracts in the public and private sectors. The Corporate Lawyer will work with business partners and teams to develop, draft and negotiate various agreements, policies and processes integral to the success of the company. The Corporate Lawyer role is required to work with supporting departments such as human resources, operations, information technology, and marketing to resolve of a wide range of business, contractual, IP, quality, regulatory, financial and operational issues. This position will report to the President.

Responsibilities

  • Advise internal stakeholders and represent the company in UCC and Lien collections, negotiate
  • MUST HAVE UCC law experience and understand the legal landscape for commercial debt recovery or the motivation to develop that expertise
  • Assist internal stake holders with contract negotiation 
  • Develop and recommend improvements for standard contractual documents and templates.
  • Evaluate and understand applicable laws and regulations to minimize potential legal risks.
  • Perform legal analysis and make practical recommendations on risk mitigation and compliance issues.
  • Assist with other legal and risk management matters as requested, such as those related to corporate governance, joint venture, employment, and litigation.

Requirements:

  • JD from an accredited law school.
  • Active license to practice law and or member in state bar.
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills.
  • General understanding of commercial collection law.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills and a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong research, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.

At Vangarde Group we  perform in-depth investigations on each UCC lien enforcement matter, which includes commercial entities, guarantors, landlords, and successor entities. Our detailed investigation provides us with the information necessary to pursue each collateral investigation. If an investigation exposes discrepancies in the borrower’s financial documents, Vangarde will notify the lienholder to make a decision on potential solutions.
