DescriptionContract Business Attorney - Small Business ClientsAs a Contract Lawyer serving our Access Members, your core responsibilities will encompass:
- Contract Review and Drafting: Carefully review and draft contracts to ensure accuracy, compliance, and optimal protection of our Access Members' interests.
- Legal Consultations: Provide expert legal guidance and consultations to our Access Members as needed.
- Client Support: Offer responsive and solution-driven support to address our Access Members' legal needs promptly.
- Legal Research: Conduct thorough legal research to support clients' cases and transactions effectively.
- Must be licensed to practice law in South Carolina.
Responsibilities• Draft documents such as correspondence, pleadings, motions, briefs, affidavits, settlement agreements, and contracts to be used proceedings and contract negotiations
• Communicate with senior associates, paralegals, and clients to ensure cases are handled efficiently
• Assist clients in determining a proper solution to legal conflicts and determine the best course of action
• Keep files organized to make sure the most recent updates are accessible to other attorneys, paralegals, and staff
• Attend court hearings or other legal proceedings, perform legal research, and work with senior associate attorneys to provide legal advice
Qualifications• Licensed attorney in good standing with a U.S. state bar (Texas preferred)
• Minimum 3 years of experience practicing business law, including contracts, entity structuring, and advising small businesses
• Strong ability to explain legal concepts in plain English to business owners
• Experience advising forward-thinkers or small business clients
• Comfortable working in a client-facing advisory role, not just document drafting
• Ability to identify legal risks and recommend proactive solutions
• Strong judgment and business-minded approach to legal strategy
• Comfortable working in a remote, flexible, contract-based environment
