Job description

Real people. Real service.
At SupplyHouse.com, we value every individual team member and cultivate a community where people come first. Led by our core values of Generosity, Respect, Innovation, Teamwork, and GRIT, we're dedicated to maintaining a supportive work environment that celebrates diversity and empowers everyone to reach their full potential. As an industry-leading e-commerce company specializing in HVAC, plumbing, heating, and electrical supplies since 2004, we strive to foster growth while providing the best possible experience for our customers.
We are seeking a Senior Manager, Final Mile Delivery to join our Operations team. Reporting to the Director of Fulfillment, this role will oversee 10-40 drivers, company employed and aggregator contracted, lead the strategy and execution of our delivery network, integrating same-day fulfillment, aggregator platforms (e.g., DoorDash, Roadie, Uber Freight), local pickup, and zone-skipping through UPS. This individual will operate at the intersection of on-demand logistics, carrier optimization, and customer experience, driving scalable, high-performance delivery solutions across an expanding network of fulfillment centers.
This role sits at the intersection of on-demand logistics and e-commerce strategy. You're designing what fast delivery looks like for trade professionals, not managing a traditional freight operation. You will be responsible for owning the end-to-end on-demand delivery program, including company drivers, DoorDash, Roadie, and emerging aggregator partners, overseeing onboarding, performance management, cost optimization, and SLA achievement.
This remote position is open to individuals who live in, or are open to relocating to, the following states: Arizona, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, and Washington. About 35% of the year, this role will entail traveling to our on-site fulfillment/office locations. The cost of travel for employees out of the area will be covered by the company. Additionally, our offices are always available for staff to use as much as desired.
Role Type: Full-Time, Exempt
Location: Remote
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. EST
Base Salary: $124,000 - $177,000 per year
Responsibilities:
  • Carrier Strategy & Network Optimization: Drive zone-skipping strategy in partnership with UPS and other parcel carriers to compress transit times and reduce ship-from-zone costs at the fulfillment level.
  • Same-Day/Last-Mile Operations: Design and scale same-day and next-day local delivery offerings from our fulfillment centers, including time windows, cutoff management, and driver/route orchestration. Manage local pickup (BOPIS/will call) operations and identify opportunities to improve throughput and customer experience at pick-up points.
  • Hub & Spoke Infrastructure: Build and manage the hub and spoke local delivery framework, facilities, staffing, routing software, and inter-FC transfer coordination. Build the operational playbook for scaling last-mile delivery as we add fulfillment centers to our portfolio
  • Data & Performance Management: Establish and track KPIs across delivery channels (on-time %, cost per delivery, aggregator utilization, customer satisfaction) and drive continuous improvement. Develop and maintain compliance, safety, and licensing standards for any company-operated fleet assets
  • Cross-Functional Strategy & Scalability: Partner with Technology, Supply Chain, and Merchandising to ensure inventory positioning supports same-day commitments and aggregator eligibility.
  • People & Vendor Management: Manage carrier and aggregator relationships, negotiate contracts, hold vendors accountable to SLAs, and stay current on platform capabilities and pricing changes

Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
  • 5+ years of experience in last-mile delivery, on-demand logistics, or same-day fulfillment (aggregator platform experience strongly preferred)
  • Hands-on experience managing DoorDash, Roadie, Uber, or equivalent on-demand delivery networks
  • Experience with zone-skipping or carrier optimization programs (UPS, FedEx, or regional carriers) to reduce transit time and cost
  • Familiarity with routing and dispatch software (e.g., OptimoRoute, Circuit, DispatchTrack, or similar)
  • Strong data and analytics skills (ability to build and interpret delivery performance dashboards and translate data into operational decisions)
  • Demonstrated ability to manage external vendor/carrier relationships and hold partners to contracted SLAs
  • Ability to travel to fulfillment locations as needed for program launches, driver hiring, and operational reviews

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Transportation Management, or a related field
  • Experience scaling local delivery in an e-commerce, distributor, or multi-site fulfillment environment
  • Familiarity with BOPIS or will-call pickup operations
