System Administrator

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced System Administrator to oversee software configuration management, optimize system operations, and manage technical systems through the entire Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). The ideal candidate will possess a strong blend of system administration expertise, technical writing capabilities, and specialized experience managing client-server applications, databases, and enterprise scheduling tools in a distributed environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • System Operations & Management: Supervise and manage the daily activities associated with the configuration, operation, and optimization of core business systems.
  • Capacity & Resource Planning: Perform comprehensive system capacity analysis, resource utilization optimization, and long-term planning to ensure seamless operational continuity.
  • User Support: Provide expert technical assistance to users accessing and utilizing critical business systems.
  • Technical Documentation: Gather, analyze, and compose complex technical information into clear, readable documentation for both technical and non-technical personnel, ensuring the use of proper industry terminology.
  • Program & Project Support: Assist in the preparation of management plans, progress reports, proposals, and task order deliverables. Coordinate schedules to facilitate deliverables, task order reviews, and executive briefings/presentations.
  • Process Improvement: Perform analysis, development, and thorough review of program administrative operating procedures to enhance efficiency.


Required Qualifications & Experience

  • General Experience: Demonstrated history of increasing responsibility in information systems design, technical solution delivery, and system management.
  • SDLC Leadership: Proven experience serving as a senior engineer managing all technical aspects of systems development, technical system design, and operations from inception to deployment through the full SDLC.
  • Specialized Application Experience:
    • Direct experience working with client-server applications, specifically the Automated Support Package.
    • Proven experience compiling in Delphi.
  • Database Administration: Solid experience working with IBM DB2 database environments.
  • Enterprise Scheduling & Automation: Direct experience in the management, development, and operation of an enterprise job scheduling tool, specifically Global ECS, within a distributed enterprise environment.
  • Deployment & Scripting:
    • Practical experience with software, database, batch job, and Pearl script (Perl) deployments.
    • Experience with MSI packaging for software deployment.
