Job description

The AI Developer will design, develop, and integrate artificial intelligence solutions in support of ITA's mission through the AI Center of Excellence (AI-CoE). This role emphasizes hands-on development of AI models, data analysis, and the integration of AI capabilities into production systems within a secure federal IT environment. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, high-quality AI solutions that directly support mission-driven objectives.
*Position is contingent upon contract award.*
Responsibilities
  • Design and develop artificial intelligence models, algorithms, and applications to address mission-driven challenges.
  • Preprocess, analyze, and manage large datasets in collaboration with data, engineering, and product teams.
  • Implement and maintain machine learning and deep learning frameworks.
  • Fine-tune and optimize AI models to improve performance, scalability, and accuracy.
  • Integrate AI models into enterprise and cloud-based production systems.
  • Document code, models, algorithms, and development processes in accordance with organizational standards.
  • Support testing, deployment, and ongoing operations and maintenance of AI solutions.
  • Participate in SAFe Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Stay current with emerging AI technologies, tools, frameworks, and industry best practices.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • U.S. Citizenship (required).
  • MUST possess a NACI or higher background investigation.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum of eight (8) years of professional experience.
  • Demonstrated experience developing artificial intelligence or machine learning solutions.
  • Proficiency in at least one AI/ML programming framework.
  • Experience working with large datasets and applying data preprocessing techniques.
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.

Desired Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, or a related field.
  • Experience integrating AI models into enterprise or production systems.
  • Experience working in cloud-based AI development environments.
  • Knowledge of DevOps and/or MLOps practices.
  • Experience supporting federal government or public sector IT programs.
  • Familiarity with application security, compliance, and secure development requirements.
  • Experience using Azure DevOps or similar delivery management tools.
