Safe Place Counseling Center is seeking a compassionate and skilled Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our dedicated team. This position is entirely remote, allowing for flexible scheduling that meets the needs of our diverse client population. You will connect with clients online, utilizing secure digital platforms to conduct therapy sessions. • Conduct assessments to determine the mental health status and needs of clients, employing various diagnostic tools and techniques.
• Design personalized treatment plans outlining specific goals and therapeutic interventions tailored to each individual's circumstances.
• Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions, utilizing evidence-based practices to address issues like anxiety, depression, and substance use disorders.
• Monitor client progress through regular check-ins, adjusting therapeutic approaches as necessary to optimize outcomes.
• Collaborate with other healthcare providers within our multidisciplinary team, including psychiatrists, to ensure comprehensive treatment.
• Document all sessions accurately in our electronic health records (EHR) system, ensuring adherence to legal and ethical standards.
• Provide clients with tools and strategies to cope with challenges outside of therapy sessions, including coping skills and resources for additional support.

In this role, you will engage with a varied clientele that includes adolescents and adults coping with mental health disorders, substance abuse issues, and other behavioral health challenges. Your work will primarily focus on delivering empathetic care and effective treatment strategies to help clients navigate their emotions and circumstances. Your expertise will also involve working with individuals from diverse backgrounds, ensuring culturally sensitive approaches to therapy and care.

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.
• A current and valid license as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) in the state of Washington.
• A minimum of four years of relevant clinical experience in mental health counseling, demonstrating the ability to work with a broad range of disorders.
• Proficiency in utilizing electronic health record systems and familiarity with mental health billing and coding practices.

• Experience in crisis intervention and stabilization techniques, with a calm and reassuring demeanor in challenging situations.
• Demonstrated ability to facilitate group therapy sessions with both structure and flexibility, tailoring methods to meet the needs of participants effectively.
• Knowledge of evidence-based treatment methods and ongoing training in culturally responsive therapy practices.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven ability to establish rapport and trust with a variety of clientele.
