Their responsibilities typically include coordinating project activities, monitoring progress, ensuring compliance with international regulations, managing budgets, and facilitating communication among stakeholders across different countries. Working remotely allows them to perform these tasks using digital tools, making it possible to support global initiatives without being physically present in the organization's headquarters. This role is common in non-profits, NGOs, educational institutions, and international development agencies.

How does a Remote International Program Officer effectively coordinate with teams across different time zones and cultures?

As a Remote International Program Officer, effective coordination with cross-cultural and geographically dispersed teams often involves flexible scheduling, strong digital communication skills, and cultural sensitivity. You’ll likely use collaboration tools like video conferencing, project management platforms, and shared documents to bridge distance and time differences. Building rapport remotely and being proactive in communication are essential, as is adapting your approach to respect regional work norms. Regular check-ins and clear documentation help ensure alignment and smooth program delivery despite geographic separation.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Remote International Program Officer, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote International Program Officer, you need a strong background in program management, cross-cultural communication, and international development, typically supported by a relevant degree and experience working with global projects. Employment Type: Full-time
Travel Requirement: Travel required; willingness to travel to project site regularly

About Elire
Elire LLC is a growing consulting firm that helps organizations modernize and optimize their enterprise systems and business processes. For nearly 20 years, we have partnered with clients across many industries to deliver practical, high-quality solutions spanning PeopleSoft, Oracle Cloud, Treasury, ERP, HCM, EPM, and managed services. Our teams are collaborative, hands-on, and solution-oriented, working as trusted partners throughout implementations, enhancements, support initiatives, and long-term transformation programs.
Position Overview
Elire is seeking an experienced Project Manager / Thread Lead - PeopleSoft Financials to support a large-scale, multi-pillar international PeopleSoft implementation. This is not a traditional project management role - we are looking for a seasoned PeopleSoft Financials professional who has worked their way through the suite as a functional consultant and grown into delivery leadership. You understand the modules from the inside out and can see pitfalls before they surface.
You will serve as both the functional thread lead and project manager for the Financials workstream on a multi-year international program - accountable for delivery quality, team coordination, client confidence, and keeping the workstream aligned with overall program goals. You will work closely with the Program Manager, client stakeholders, and internal delivery leadership throughout the engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Financials Thread Leadership & Delivery
Serve as the primary thread lead and subject matter expert for PeopleSoft Financials across all project phases
Lead the design, configuration, testing, and deployment of Financials modules including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Asset Management, Project Costing, and related sub-ledgers
Anticipate functional and technical pitfalls within the Financials workstream, proactively address risks, and ensure consistency, quality, and best practices across all deliverables
Drive workstream planning, milestone tracking, and day-to-day execution across the financial thread
Project Management & Coordination
Manage the Financials workstream as a dedicated project manager, overseeing scope, schedule, resources, risks, and issues
Coordinate with the Program Manager and other thread leads to maintain alignment across all program pillars
Facilitate workstream planning sessions, status reporting, and client-facing milestone reviews, managing dependencies with other workstreams including HCM, ELM, and EPM
Maintain clear documentation, action tracking, and issue resolution logs throughout the engagement
Client Engagement & Stakeholder Management
Serve as the trusted Financials advisor and senior point of contact for client stakeholders on the financial workstream
Lead functional workshops, requirements discussions, and solution review sessions with client finance leadership
Communicate progress, decisions, risks, and escalations clearly and confidently to both client and internal leadership, building credibility through deep functional knowledge and consistent delivery
Team Leadership & Mentorship
Lead, mentor, and guide the Financials team through all phases of the implementation, building functional problem-solving, client communication, and delivery accountability
Promote collaboration across threads and support a high-performance team culture throughout the program
Required Qualifications
10+ years of PeopleSoft Financials consulting and implementation experience
Deep hands-on functional expertise across core Financials modules (GL, AP, AR, AM, PC, or equivalent); broader Oracle or ERP ecosystem familiarity a plus
Proven experience leading a project workstream on a large-scale PeopleSoft implementation, ideally as a Financials functional consultant who has transitioned into delivery leadership
Strong ability to communicate complex financial system topics to both technical teams and business stakeholders
Demonstrated ability to anticipate delivery risks and resolve issues proactively
Experience on complex, multi-pillar enterprise implementations across the full lifecycle - fit-gap, configuration, testing, cutover, and go-live support
Excellent organizational, communication, and client relationship skills
Willingness and ability to travel internationally on a regular basis for extended project durations; experience on international or multi-country programs preferred
Why Join Elire
Play a central role in a significant international PeopleSoft program.
Work on a high-visibility, multi-year engagement with direct impact on delivery outcomes, collaborating with a senior, experienced leadership team across a complex global program
Competitive compensation, bonus opportunities, Unlimited PTO, 401(k) match, medical, dental, and additional benefits
Opportunity for long-term growth and expanded leadership responsibilities as the program scales
If you are a PeopleSoft Financials expert who has grown into a delivery leader - someone who knows the modules deeply, manages with precision, and builds lasting client confidence - we want to hear from you.
