Position Overview Boyd is seeking a dynamic and experienced Business Development Executive to join our sales team to drive revenue growth. The ideal candidate has proven success in identifying new customers and growing existing business in the manufacturing industry. Reporting directly to the VP of Sales, the BDE will identify new customers within a market segment, build relationships, educate prospects about Boyd's capabilities, and improve overall sales performance. Key Responsibilities Identify and pursue new business opportunities including expanding into new markets and industries. Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential clients, understanding their needs and providing solutions that add value. Collaborate with marketing, product development, and operations to ensure alignment and support for sales initiatives. Analyze market trends, competitive landscape, and customer feedback to identify opportunities for growth and improvement. Stay updated on industry developments, regulations, and best practices to inform sales strategies and decisionโ€making. Work directly with new customers to support and manage business growth by developing strong relationships with operating departments and various management levels. Achieve intimate knowledge of customers and industries in which customers compete, completing market analysis and assessment of the competitive landscape, including 1โ€, 3โ€, and 5โ€year projections on industry trends. Develop and execute strategies for increased customer penetration by selling additional products and services to all customer divisions. Set strategic goals and tactical plans to achieve significant growth within a highโ€success, highโ€reward environment. Directly engage at customer locations to win incremental business through active business development, establishing strong relationships with various management levels. Periodically travel internationally as necessary to develop opportunities collaboratively in foreign countries. Work closely with customer engineers and purchasing to ensure product and design requirements are identified. Work closely with Boyd Engineering to manage the design and development of customer solutions. Display and demonstrate products and solutions using prototypes, samples, and marketing support materials, providing valueโ€added guidance to customers. Utilize knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes to illustrate and emphasize Boyd's valueโ€added propositions. Manage the quotation process, performing technical review of engineering drawings and specifications, and preparing required information for formal quotation. Prepare formal quotation packages with pricing to maximize revenue while maximizing gross margin. Monitor and manage progress of projects with the Sales Operations Team to meet customer milestones and production schedules from inception to implementation. Engage with customers on all commercial topics including credit and shipping terms, legal requirements, payments, and related matters. Manage aspects of the relationship per terms and conditions of agreements, and negotiate new agreements with Boyd management. Respond to special customer needs or complaints as necessary. Utilize Salesforce CRM daily to capture all business opportunities, customer business intelligence, wins, and losses. Use Salesforce and other tools to frequently and transparently communicate opportunities and current status to colleagues and management. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, or a related field. 4โ€“5 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience in a technical selling role with a proven track record of success in the manufacturing industry. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and negotiate effectively with clients and internal stakeholders. Strategic thinker with a resultsโ€oriented mindset and a focus on driving business growth. Proven ability to develop and execute sales strategies, including market analysis, forecasting, and budgeting. Experience working with CRM software and other sales tools to track performance and manage customer relationships. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word). Ability to travel as needed, including international travel.
