Job description

WHO WE ARE
Edmentum is a dynamic educator and student-focused company dedicated to tech-enabled learning solutions. Our goal is to ensure that all students have access to flexible learning environments and educators have the tools they need to support their students. We are on a mission to create innovative, proven learning technology, partnering with educators to ignite student potential. We are a Remote First organization with a strong commitment to excellence, innovation, and customer satisfaction.
Who We Are
At Edmentum, we're not just building educational technology ... we're transforming the future of learning. As a dynamic, Remote First company on a mission to ignite student potential, we empower educators with powerful tools and support systems to create flexible, inclusive, and effective learning environments for all students. We're looking for curious, driven, and impact-focused individuals who are ready to grow with us. Sound like you? Read on.
What You'll Do
You will be the face and voice of Edmentum for students who depend on you to show up every day, live on camera, fully present and fully prepared. As a Virtual Social Science Teacher, you bring your classroom to life through a screen: connecting with students in real time, personalizing learning for every individual, and creating an online environment where students feel seen, supported, and motivated to succeed. Live, synchronous, on-camera instruction is the heart of this role - it is what our students, families, and partner schools depend on every instructional day. This role is for educators who thrive in a fast-moving digital environment and who believe that great live teaching is the core of great learning, regardless of the medium.
In this role you will:
  • Deliver live, on-camera synchronous instruction for five (5) or more hours per day, every scheduled instructional day, creating an engaging and structured virtual classroom experience that inspires student participation and achievement. This live instructional delivery is an essential function of the role.
  • Use student performance data to personalize instruction, identify learning gaps, and adapt your approach to meet each student where they are.
  • Provide timely, meaningful feedback on student work and maintain accurate records that keep students and families informed and on track.
  • Build genuine relationships with students and families through professional, proactive communication that fosters trust and shared accountability for learning outcomes.
  • Collaborate with school partners and Edmentum colleagues to ensure students receive consistent, high-quality support across their learning experience.

Who You Are
  • You hold a Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field and an active state teaching license in Montana or Kansas with an endorsement in Social Science, grades 6-12.
  • You have experience teaching in virtual and/or in-person settings and are comfortable with the unique demands of a live online classroom.
  • You are confident and engaging on camera, able to teach live for five (5) or more consecutive hours per day, every instructional day, and build real connection with students through a screen.
  • You have hands-on experience with online learning platforms, virtual instruction tools, and standard productivity software.
  • You are data-informed: you know how to read student performance data and use it to adjust your live instruction in meaningful ways.
  • You are an excellent communicator, in writing and verbally, and you know how to meet students, families, and colleagues where they are.
  • You are highly organized and self-directed, with the time management skills to independently manage a full student caseload in a remote environment.
  • You are committed to your own professional growth, maintaining certification and staying current on K-12 curriculum, technology, and best practices.
  • You bring integrity, warmth, and a deep belief that every student can succeed, values that align with Edmentum's mission.
  • You are willing to take on evolving responsibilities based on business needs.

Why You'll Love Working Here
  • A Remote First culture that values trust.
  • A mission-driven team obsessed with improving education for all students.
  • Growth opportunities and leadership that truly invests in your development.
  • The chance to work with innovative tools and game-changing products.
  • The satisfaction of knowing your work is helping shape the future of learning.

Ready to help shape the future of education? Apply now and let's build something meaningful together.
Pay range for this role:
$45,000-$50,000 USD
At Edmentum, we are committed to pay transparency. The salary range provided reflects market research, the responsibilities of the role, and alignment with our compensation principles. Actual compensation will be determined based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, relevant experience and skill sets. All compensation decisions are individualized and based on the specific circumstances of each candidate.
We also offer a comprehensive benefits package to support your overall well-being and work-life balance. This includes medical, dental, and vision insurance with various plan options, a 401(k) retirement plan with company matching, and a time away program, volunteer time away, and a winter office closure at the end of December. Additionally, we provide resources to promote wellness, ensuring you have the support you need both professionally and personally. Our goal is to provide a benefits package that helps you thrive in all aspects of life.
