Job description

Jeppesen ForeFlight is seeking a qualified and motivated Corporate Counsel, Product & Intellectual Property, to join the Office of General Counsel. This position will provide legal support across product, engineering, intellectual property, and commercial matters, with an emphasis on practical risk assessment and partnership with cross functional teams. The successful candidate will bring strong legal training, sound judgment, and the ability to advise on complex issues in a clear and business-oriented manner.
This role will work closely with product, engineering, and other business stakeholders to support the development, launch, commercialization, and ongoing management of technology products and services. The position will also assist with intellectual property matters and customer facing legal terms and agreements across both B2B and B2C offerings.
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide legal counsel to product, engineering, and business teams on product development, launch, and lifecycle matters
  • Advise on intellectual property issues, including patents, licensing, protection, clearance, and related strategy
  • Review, draft, and negotiate a variety of commercial, technology, and product related agreements
  • Support the preparation, review, and maintenance of end user license agreements, online terms, and other customer facing documentation for both B2B and B2C products and services
  • Advise internal stakeholders on contract interpretation, legal risk, and appropriate risk mitigation strategies
  • Partner with cross functional teams to identify and address legal considerations in support of innovation, product strategy, and operational objectives
  • Assist in the development of legal templates, processes, and guidance materials to improve consistency and efficiency
  • Monitor and communicate legal and regulatory developments relevant to technology products, intellectual property, and commercial practices
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of the Office of General Counsel

Basic Qualifications
  • Juris Doctor from an accredited law school
  • Active bar membership and good standing in at least one jurisdiction
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant legal practice experience
  • Experience supporting one or more of the following areas: intellectual property, including patents or trademarks, product counseling, engineering related legal matters, or technology transactions
  • Strong understanding of contracts and general commercial legal principles
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to provide practical, business focused legal advice to cross functional stakeholders
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a collaborative environment

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience advising on end user license agreements and other customer facing terms
  • Experience supporting B2B and B2C products and services
  • Regulatory experience, particularly in aviation, software, technology, or related regulated industries, is preferred
  • In house legal experience in a technology, software, or related industry environment
  • Familiarity with product and engineering organizations and their legal support needs
  • Experience balancing legal risk with business objectives in a fast paced environment
