What is a Remote Intake Attorney?

A Remote Intake Attorney is a legal professional who works primarily online or over the phone to assess potential clients' legal needs and determine if a law firm can assist with their case. They conduct initial consultations, gather relevant information, and help decide whether a case should move forward. Working remotely, they often serve as the first point of contact for clients, ensuring efficient and thorough evaluation before referring the case to the appropriate legal team. This role allows law firms to streamline their intake process and provide timely responses to prospective clients.

What are some common challenges faced by Remote Intake Attorneys and how can they be managed?

Remote Intake Attorneys often encounter challenges related to communication and information gathering, as they must evaluate potential cases without face-to-face interaction. Clear, empathetic communication is crucial to ensure clients feel heard and understood, despite the virtual setting. Additionally, remote attorneys must be adept at using legal technology platforms and maintaining organized digital records. To manage these challenges, it’s helpful to establish structured intake processes, regularly collaborate with colleagues via video meetings, and stay updated on best practices for remote client engagement.

Job description

Focus on the Courtroom and Counsel, Not the Administrative Grind.
If you are an advocate who thrives on protecting families and securing legacies, but you are tired of the administrative burdens of solo or small-firm practice, we would love to connect.
At the Law Office of Bryan Fagan, we have built a streamlined system so you can focus entirely on your passion: practicing law at the highest level. We are a premier, trusted Texas law firm specializing in family law, estate planning, probate, and guardianship. With 14 offices across the state-including Houston, Humble, The Woodlands, Richmond, Galveston, Austin, San Antonio, Dallas, Fort Worth, Rockwall, and El Paso-we provide our attorneys with a supportive platform, collaborative team environment, and a true commitment to work-life balance.
You won't be hunting for leads or chasing invoices. You will lead high-impact estate planning and probate matters from intake to final resolution with the full support of our marketing and administrative engine.
  • Lead the Strategy: Drive complex probate litigation, including non-contested and contested guardianships, conservatorships, and trust disputes.
  • Command the Courtroom: Represent clients in Texas probate courts with confidence and clarity during will contests and breaches of fiduciary duty.
  • Litigate & Draft with Excellence: Conduct thorough legal research, handle depositions and mediations, and approve or draft elite, comprehensive estate plans.
  • Provide Expert Counsel: Help families navigate wealth preservation and their toughest transitions with results-driven, empathetic representation.
An experienced, compassionate advocate who is ready to thrive in a highly collaborative legal environment.
  • The Credentials: A valid Texas bar license for a minimum of 2 years in good standing.
  • The Experience: Minimum of 2 years of dedicated experience in Texas estate planning, probate, and guardianship matters (5+ years preferred).
  • The Skillset: A strong presence in the courtroom for contested matters and the ability to manage a busy docket with care and composure. You are a highly organized advocate experienced in drafting comprehensive trusts, wills, pleadings, and structures with exceptional attention to detail.
  • The Tech: Proficient in Clio, TxDoc, Google Suite, or similar drafting and client management software.

We value your expertise and compensate accordingly, offering the infrastructure of a large firm alongside a warm, people-first culture.
  • Competitive Earnings: Attractive Base Salary (commensurate with experience) + a lucrative bi-weekly billable hour bonus structure with $70k+ annual upside.
  • The Essentials: 401(k) with up to 5% company match. Affordable Medical, Dental, and Vision plans with Short/Long Term Disability and Voluntary Term Life Insurance.
  • Real Balance: Generous PTO, company holidays, and an earned hybrid option (1-2 days remote) designed to protect your work-life balance and mental health.
  • Real Support: Dedicated administrative support and billing teams assigned to your cases so you can focus entirely on managing your clients' journeys.

Why the Law Office of Bryan Fagan?
We've spent over a decade building a reputation for excellence across our 11 Texas offices. Here, your skills are respected, your support is guaranteed, and your mission is clear: providing elite legal representation without the burnout of business development.
Equal Opportunity Statement: The Law Office of Bryan Fagan is an equal opportunity employer. We recognize that diverse experiences, perspectives, and backgrounds enable us to be a stronger firm and a better workplace.
