Overview

The Instructional Designer focuses on developing learning content based on pre-established storyboards provided by the Learning Architect (LA) in collaboration with subject matter experts (SMEs). This role involves the technical creation of e-learning modules, multimedia content, and other digital training materials. This project-based role strongly focuses on executing the instructional design plan for each project and delivering high-quality learning solutions.


Responsibilities
  • Use authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Rise, PowerPoint) to develop the course as per the storyboard provided by the LA.
  • Produce multimedia assets, such as videos and basic simulations, that are beyond the capabilities of standard authoring tools.
  • Implement and integrate interactive elements, such as quizzes and branching scenarios, ensuring they function as intended and align with learning objectives.
  • Work closely with SMEs to refine content and ensure accuracy during the development phase.
  • Package the course for LMS deployment, ensuring it meets technical specifications (e.g. SCORM compliance).
  • Conduct preliminary testing to ensure the course operates smoothly and all elements work as expected before the final Quality Assurance (QA) review process.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, or a related field is preferred but not required. - Preferred
  • 3 years of experience in Developing e-learning or digital content using instructional design principles and learning materials, programs, and curricula for in-classroom and virtual audiences.
  • 3 years of experience in Creating content and design materials within a multi-segmented organization focused on contact center, sales, and service channels or international scale.

Compensation
In the spirit of pay transparency, we are excited to share that the starting base pay range for this position is $29.79 - $42.10 per hour. Please keep in mind that this range is the base pay only and does not consider other components that make up the total rewards package for the position. If you are hired at Paychex, your overall compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience which may result in total compensation outside of this range.
