Job description

Job Title: SAO Instructional Designer
Duration: 1 year+ Extension-Remote
Location: Atlanta, GA 30334-9010
Job Description:
Under broad supervision, analyzes customer business needs and participates in the planning, design and implementation of new or enhanced systems. May act as a team or project leader.
The Instructional Designer is responsible for developing innovative instructional programs and materials that align with organizational goals and learner needs for the State Accounting Office (SAO). This role requires a blend of instructional design expertise, creativity, and strong communication skills to create engaging and effective learning experiences. The Instructional Designer will collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) and stakeholders to ensure the accuracy and relevancy of training content.
Local candidates and onsite work schedule are preferred; Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
However, out of state candidates are permitted. (100% remote)
Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct training needs assessments and audience analysis
  • Design and develop 508-compliant instructional materials (storyboards, job aids, eLearning, videos, etc.)
  • Create interactive training (ILT, virtual, microlearning, SCORM-compliant courses)
  • Use tools like Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, Camtasia
  • Develop and analyze assessments (quizzes, simulations, tests)
  • Track project progress, timelines, and deliverables
  • Collaborate with SMEs and stakeholders to ensure content accuracy
  • Maintain and update curriculum based on industry trends and feedback

Required Qualifications
  • 3-5+ years in Instructional Design / Training & Development
  • Strong knowledge of ADDIE, SAM, Kirkpatrick Model, adult learning principles
  • Experience with SCORM and LMS platforms
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Expertise in creating instructional content (storyboards, scripts, job aids, etc.)
  • Knowledge of 508 compliance (accessibility standards)
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and project management skills

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's/Master's in Instructional Design, Education, or related field
  • Experience with **Workday LMS and ERP implementations
  • Experience in large-scale Workday ERP transitions
  • Knowledge of gamification techniques
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects)
