Job description

Marketing Operations Specialist
Remote-First | Early-Career Opportunity | AI-First Environment
Do you enjoy uncovering why two reports do not match, why a campaign suddenly stopped generating quality leads, or how a repetitive process could be improved using AI and automation?
Basement Kings USA is seeking a technically curious, analytical, and highly organized Marketing Operations Specialist to connect leadership, advertising agencies, marketing platforms, customer data, and multiple operating brands. This is not a social-media or content-creation position. The role focuses on making sure marketing operations work effectively through paid-media oversight, data analysis, tracking, agency accountability, and AI-enabled process improvement.
Position Details
Reports To: Chief Marketing Officer
Location: Remote in Durham, NC
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-6:00pm EST
Compensation: $62,000-$72,000 per year, depending on experience
Travel: Occasional business travel may be required
What You'll Own
Paid-Media Performance
Work directly in Google Ads and other paid-media platforms while also overseeing agency-managed accounts. Review campaign structure, bids, budgets, keywords, competition, conversion data, ad quality, and automated bidding to evaluate performance and ask informed questions.
Data, Customer Insights & Measurement
Analyze and reconcile information across advertising platforms, call tracking, analytics, CRM data, internal reports, and agency reporting. Research discrepancies, identify patterns in lead quality and customer behavior, and turn findings into recommended tests, operational changes, or budget decisions.
Agency & Marketing Operations
Coordinate with paid-media and SEO agencies, document commitments, confirm completed work, and follow open items through resolution. Support platform access, invoices, billing questions, vendor administration, and operating documentation.
Tracking & Systems
Monitor connections between systems such as CallRail, GA4, Google Ads, Zapier, and ServiceTitan. Spot broken tracking, unreliable conversion data, duplicate records, or incomplete data that could affect campaign performance and automated bidding.
AI & Automation
Use AI to build or meaningfully improve workflows, automations, agents, lightweight applications, scripts, reporting processes, or other repeatable systems. AI output must be verified, with the employee remaining accountable for accuracy and final results.
Foundational Skills

  • 2-3 years of related experience in marketing operations, paid media, analytics, business operations, or a combination of these areas.
  • Hands-on experience with Google Ads or a comparable paid-media platform and working knowledge of PPC/paid-search mechanics.
  • Strong spreadsheet skills, including pivot tables, lookups, formulas, data cleaning, and reconciliation.
  • Experience building or improving an AI-enabled workflow, automation, agent, application, script, or repeatable process.
  • Strong analytical judgment, attention to detail, organization, follow-through, and the ability to research conflicting data.
  • Clear written communication and confidence working with agencies, vendors, leadership, and internal partners.
  • Ability to work independently, learn new systems quickly, and remain accountable in a remote-first environment.
Helpful Experience
Experience with any of these systems is valuable but hands-on experience and demonstrated problem-solving ability matter more than knowing every platform or holding certifications
  • GA4,
  • CallRail
  • ServiceTitan
  • Zapier
  • Google Business Profile
  • Google Ads Manager Accounts
  • Local Services Ads
  • Meta Ads
  • APIs, SQL, Google Apps Script, BI tools
  • No-code or AI-assisted development platforms
  • Home-services, construction, franchise, or multi-location marketing.
You May Be a Strong Fit If You
  • Enjoy investigating data until you understand why numbers do not match.
  • Follow through without repeated reminders and reliably close open items.
  • Ask informed questions and use evidence before recommending changes.
  • Look for opportunities to turn successful one-time solutions into repeatable systems.
  • Are comfortable learning new software and working across multiple connected platforms.
  • See AI as a tool for improving operations, not simply producing faster first drafts.

What Success Looks Like
Within the first 90 days, you will begin taking ownership of agency coordination, assigned paid-media responsibilities, tracking-health checks, data reconciliation, cross-brand standards, and routine vendor administration. You will also implement or significantly improve at least one AI-assisted workflow and present at least one data-supported recommendation for a campaign test, budget decision, process improvement, or cross-brand change.
Basement Kings USA is an equal opportunity employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to legally protected characteristics.
