This role provides advanced expertise in the configuration, maintenance, optimization, and strategic enhancement of the Salesforce platform and related applications, including Ascend. The Senior Salesforce Administrator serves as a subject-matter expert, leading complex system initiatives, advising on architectural decisions, and ensuring the reliability, scalability, and long-term sustainability of Salesforce solutions.

This position monitors system performance, analyzes complex issues, leads system improvements, and oversees testing and implementation of changes. The Senior Salesforce Administrator collaborates with business and technical stakeholders, mentors junior team members, and contributes significantly to continuous improvement, governance, and best practices within an agile environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the configuration, optimization, and governance of Salesforce, including advanced Flows, complex automation, custom objects, Lightning features, and integrations.
  • Serve as platform expert for Ascend and Salesforce instances, maintaining custom metadata, settings, and system architecture.
  • Design and implement scalable solutions that support enterprise-level business processes and system growth.
  • Lead testing strategy, execution, and documentation for complex system enhancements and cross-functional initiatives.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve high complexity issues, performing root cause analysis and implementing long term solutions.
  • Partner with business stakeholders to translate strategic objectives into technical requirements and system enhancements.
  • Contribute to and enforce standards for documentation, architecture, governance, and change management.
  • Monitor performance, capacity, and reliability of assigned systems; recommend and implement improvements.
  • Provide advanced administrative support for projects, including planning, design, development, and implementation activities.
  • Mentor and support Salesforce Administrators and Analysts, promoting knowledge sharing and development.
  • Participate in and help lead agile ceremonies, backlog refinement, and continuous delivery efforts.
  • Oversee data quality processes, including data imports, cleansing, validation, and auditing.
  • Collaborate with IS teams to support integrations, security reviews, and compliance initiatives.
  • Provide thought leadership on Salesforce best practices, emerging features, and platform roadmap.
  • Participate in on call rotation

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent years' experience
  • 5+ years of experience in Salesforce administration or related discipline

Preferred:

  • Salesforce Platform Administrator Certification
  • Advanced Salesforce certification preferred (e.g., Administrator II, Platform App Builder)
  • Experience leading complex Salesforce initiatives in a healthcare or enterprise environment
  • Strong analytical, architectural, and problem-solving skills
  • Expertise with advanced automation (Flows, Apex fundamentals, system integrations)
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate across cross functional teams
  • Strong organizational and time management skills; ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience working in agile methodology
  • Highly driven, independent, and capable of providing leadership and mentorship
