The Technical Manager - Remote is a role within the Advisory consulting practice. Optum is seeking a technical manager to support the implementation program for claims and other healthcare solutions. This individual will be responsible for architecting and designing technical solutions for integration for both On Prem and Cloud based solutions

You'll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. For all hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a technical lead contributing to and directing the efforts of development teams, including internal and external team members
  • Lead the design and development of integrations between enrollment, front end sales systems and rest of the customers technology ecosystem
  • Proven track record of hands-on engineering, technology architecture and leadership experience
  • Work with client requirements, technical architects and program leadership to scope, plan and design integrations
  • Provide leadership, guidance and mentorship to team members, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement
  • Build and maintain solid client relationships
  • Ensure client satisfaction by delivering high quality services
  • Determine process improvements, best practices, and develop new processes
  • Proven ability to take initiative and work independently in a fast-paced environment

Required Qualifications:

  • 15 years of experience in software engineering and solution architecture definition  
  • 10 years of experience in software delivery using Agile /Waterfall models and sprint team leadership
  • 5 years of experience in .Net and Azure cloud implementation
  • 5 years of experience in event driven microservices architecture
  • 5 years of experience working with Health Insurance processes and systems focused on front end policy sales systems and enrollment
  • 5 years of experience leading integration efforts for large scale system implementations
  • 5 years of Full Stack development

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in AI/ML delivery projects
  • Experience working with offshore teams
  • Experience managing budget and resource plans
  • Experience in a leadership role in a diverse, fast paced environment

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you'll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $112,700 - $193,200 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
