Description
CLX Engineering's Implementation Manager is responsible for the successful execution of airport baggage handling and industrial automation projects. Serving as the primary field coordination lead, this role ensures implementation activities are planned, organized, and executed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with project objectives.
Working closely with Project Managers, engineering teams, customers, subcontractors, and airport stakeholders, the Implementation Manager coordinates site activities, removes obstacles, manages priorities, and drives projects to successful completion.
The ideal candidate combines strong organizational, communication, and relationship-building skills with practical experience in automation, material handling, airport, theme park, or industrial project environments.
Key Responsibilities
Project Execution & Coordination
  • Lead day-to-day implementation activities for one or more projects.
  • Coordinate customers, subcontractors, suppliers, engineering teams, and field personnel.
  • Manage implementation schedules, site activities, and project priorities.
  • Identify risks, conflicts, and delays, driving resolution or escalation as needed.
  • Ensure work aligns with project requirements, operational needs, and design intent.

Customer & Stakeholder Management
  • Serve as a primary point of contact during implementation activities.
  • Build trusted relationships with customers, airport personnel, contractors, and internal teams to facilitate collaboration and remove obstacles to project success.
  • Keep stakeholders aligned through proactive communication, clear expectations, and timely decision-making.
  • Represent CLX during project meetings, site reviews, and implementation planning activities.

Communication & Problem Solving
  • Provide clear status updates, reports, meeting summaries, and project documentation.
  • Track project progress, risks, action items, and implementation milestones.
  • Anticipate implementation challenges, address issues early, and prevent disruptions to project execution.
  • Support lessons learned and continuous improvement efforts across implementation activities.

Work Environment
  • This role regularly supports projects in airports, warehouses, manufacturing facilities, and other active industrial environments.
  • Candidates must be comfortable working:
  • In loud operational settings
  • In active construction and commissioning environments
  • Indoors and outdoors
  • In varying weather and temperature conditions
  • On their feet for extended periods while coordinating site activities

Location & Travel
  • This position may be performed remotely. Preference will be given to candidates located in the Greater Orlando, FL or Greater Atlanta, GA metropolitan areas. Candidates must reside within reasonable access to a major airport and be willing to travel extensively.
  • Remote employees should expect approximately 85% travel.
  • Employees based near Sanford, FL or Atlanta, GA should expect approximately 65%+ travel, depending on project requirements.

Requirements
  • Ensure successful project delivery by organizing people, priorities, schedules, and resources across multiple implementation activities.
  • Build productive working relationships with customers, contractors, stakeholders, and project teams while establishing a strong sense of trust, credibility, and dependability.
  • Deliver clear status updates, technical summaries, reports, meeting notes, and written correspondence that keep stakeholders informed and aligned.
  • Identify risks early, remove obstacles, and drive practical solutions in fast-paced project environments.
  • Remain effective and composed while balancing shifting priorities, changing project requirements, and aggressive schedules.
  • Leverage a practical understanding of industrial automation, controls, commissioning, and related technologies to effectively coordinate implementation activities and collaborate with technical teams.

Preferred Experience
  • Coordinate projects involving multiple stakeholders, vendors, contractors, and technical disciplines while maintaining alignment and project momentum.
  • Work with airport baggage handling systems (BHS), industrial automation, controls integration, material handling systems, construction management, or similar industrial environments.
  • Apply knowledge of industrial controls, PLC-based systems, commissioning, or automation technologies to support implementation activities.
  • Operate successfully in airports, manufacturing facilities, warehouses, distribution centers, or other active industrial environments operations.
