Job description

Job Title: HVAC Project Manager

Location: Schwenksville, PA (On-site)

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced HVAC Project Manager to oversee commercial HVAC and mechanical projects from project kickoff through completion. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sheet metal and mechanical piping systems, excellent blueprint reading skills, and experience managing multiple projects simultaneously. This role requires close coordination with clients, drafting teams, and project stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered accurately, on time, and within scope.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage multiple HVAC and mechanical projects simultaneously from initiation through closeout.

  • Review contract drawings and estimates to verify project scope and requirements.

  • Prepare all project startup documentation, including product submittals, billing forms, and project records.

  • Coordinate with clients, internal drafting teams, and project stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Attend virtual coordination and project meetings.

  • Review fabrication and shop drawings to ensure quality, accuracy, and compliance with project requirements before client submission.

  • Monitor project schedules, documentation, and deliverables.

  • Process RFIs, change orders, and monthly AIA billing documentation.

  • Maintain project files and upload documentation through project management platforms.

  • Work independently while effectively coordinating with internal and external teams.

  • Assist with mentoring or managing junior team members when needed.

Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience managing commercial HVAC or mechanical construction projects.

  • Strong hands-on knowledge of sheet metal HVAC systems and mechanical piping.

  • Thorough understanding of duct fabrication, joints, connections, and industry standards including SMACNA and ASHRAE.

  • Excellent ability to read and interpret construction drawings and blueprints.

  • Experience handling RFIs, change orders, and AIA billing.

  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Software Experience
  • Procore

  • PlanGrid

  • Constructware or similar construction management software

  • Bluebeam Revu (Adobe Acrobat experience also acceptable)

  • Autodesk Navisworks (Certification preferred; training may be provided)

  • Microsoft Outlook

  • Microsoft Teams

  • Box, OneDrive, or similar cloud-based document management platforms

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience reviewing fabrication and shop drawings.

  • Previous experience coordinating with BIM/VDC or drafting teams.

  • Leadership or supervisory experience is a plus.

  • Autodesk Navisworks Certification is preferred but not required.
