As an LCSW, your day-to-day responsibilities will be multifaceted, focused on delivering high-quality psychotherapy and emotional support. Your primary tasks will include:

• Conducting thorough assessments to evaluate the psychosocial needs of patients and their families, taking into consideration their emotional, spiritual, and support system conditions.
• Developing individualized treatment plans that incorporate evidence-based therapeutic approaches and reflect the unique preferences of patients.
• Implementing interventions such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), grief counseling, and family therapy in a coherent manner, adapted to each patient's specific stage of care.
• Maintaining accurate clinical documentation that adheres to HIPAA regulations, ensuring privacy while contributing to seamless interdisciplinary communication.
• Collaborating extensively with the treatment team to ensure that the holistic care needs of the patient are met, participating in regular case reviews to refine care strategies.
• Providing education and resources to families on managing emotional and practical challenges related to end-of-life care.

This role focuses on a sensitive and vulnerable patient population within a hospice care setting. You will work closely with terminally ill patients and their families, offering support to help them cope with the emotional and psychological aspects of end-of-life decisions and care. Understanding the intricacies of grief and loss, you will provide a safe space for clients to express their feelings and navigate this critical transition.

To succeed in this role, candidates must have:

• A Master's degree in Social Work from an accredited institution.
• A current and valid license to practice as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of Texas.
• A strong foundation of at least 3 years of experience in a clinical setting, particularly in providing psychotherapy services.
• Excellent skills in both verbal and written communication, enabling you to connect with patients, families, and team members effectively.
• Demonstrated knowledge and application of solution-based psychotherapy interventions and techniques suitable for end-of-life care.
• Capable problem-solving and critical-thinking skills, allowing for responsive and adaptive client care.
• The ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, maintaining a focus on patient-centered care.

While not mandatory, experience in hospice or palliative care environments significantly enhances your candidacy. Proficiency in grief counseling methods and familiarity with the challenges faced by patients in this stage of life are particularly advantageous. Additional training in trauma-informed care can also benefit your approach to patient interactions.
