Adjunct - Advanced Health Assessment for Nurse Educators - Online (Remote) - College of Nursing and Health Care Professions
Are you passionate about shaping future health care leaders and helping students discover their purpose? The College of Nursing and Health Care Professions at GCU is seeking knowledgeable, mission-driven Adjunct Faculty to teach Advanced Health Assessment for Nurse Educators online.
This course builds upon students' previous health assessment knowledge offering advanced health assessment content to provide the foundation for the advanced professional nursing role of the nurse educator. This course emphasizes knowledge of health assessment, including physical, psychosocial, and spiritual health assessment; risk assessment; and functional assessment in diverse populations in the promotion of health and prevention of disease. This course incorporates the completion and interpretation of a head-to-toe assessment along with emphasis on effective documentation and health recordkeeping.
What You Will Do
  • Deliver engaging, high-quality instruction using innovative teaching methods and current industry technologies
  • Maintain compliance with accreditation standards
  • Model the holistic tenets of the nursing profession and uphold the University's mission and pillars
  • Facilitate meaningful classroom discussions, assess student learning, and prepare students for leadership roles in health care
  • Support program initiatives and demonstrate alignment with the philosophy and direction of the University
  • Provide a positive example by supporting GCU's Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement, and Mission

What You Will Bring
  • Preferred: Doctorate in Nursing.
  • Required: Master's Degree in Nursing or a DO, MD, or Master's prepared Physicians' Assistant. Graduate degree must be from an accredited university.
  • Nurses must maintain an active, current, unrestricted and unencumbered AZ or Multi-state RN license and unencumbered APRN certificate.
  • Current national board certification.
  • Minimum of 2 years APRN, DO, MD, or PA clinical experience and current knowledge in course content within the focused population.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build supportive relationships with students
  • Proficiency in English, grammar, and APA writing
  • Commitment to modeling GCU's mission and values
