Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough trauma-informed assessments to evaluate each patient’s trauma history, identifying their specific needs and designing personalized treatment approaches.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans that engage patients in their journey toward trauma recovery and resilience.
  • Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions, utilizing recognized modalities such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) in both individual and group settings.
  • Deliver therapeutic sessions that allow patients to process their traumatic experiences, develop effective coping strategies, and foster overall healing within a secure framework.
  • Collaborate closely with psychiatrists and interdisciplinary team members to ensure an integrated approach to patient care, sharing insights and strategies that enhance the therapeutic process.
  • Offer immediate crisis intervention and support for patients experiencing trauma-related emergencies, using de-escalation techniques and professional judgment.
  • Educate patients and families about the impact of trauma, effective coping mechanisms, available resources, and the therapeutic process.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential documentation in accordance with all legal and ethical standards, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and other regulations.
  • Actively participate in case consultations, team meetings, and ongoing professional development activities, focused on trauma-informed practices.
  • Stay informed about the latest research and advancements in trauma therapy, integrating new knowledge into practice.
Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will work with a diverse client base primarily comprised of individuals affected by trauma, including those experiencing post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), complex trauma, and dissociative disorders. A compassionate and understanding approach is essential, as your work will not only impact individual lives but also the broader community by promoting mental health awareness and destigmatizing trauma recovery.

Qualifications
  • A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.
  • Current and valid licensure as an LICSW, LMHC, or LMFT in Massachusetts.
