Job description

Overview

At Cotiviti, we are custodians of data for our clients. Using their technical experience in ETL processes, Data Engineers ensure operational functions are occurring as expected. This includes but is not limited to managing data implementations, data integrations, data production, data quality, and data security.

Responsibilities
  • Create, maintain and execute complex SQL queries for data management and data validation.
  • Demonstrates subject matter expertise in relation to data mapping, transformations, validations, and ingestion workflows.
  • Monitor data processes, analyze data trends and identify anomalies or issues.
  • Immediately report issues regarding quality of/or interruption of data processes following standard operating procedures.
  • Perform production solutions and services configurations as needed.
  • Serve as a change agent to identify organizational improvements and make recommendations to improve business processes.
  • Create and maintain SOP documents.
  • Train and mentor new members of the team as needed.
  • Participate in meetings with clients and/or stakeholders.
  • Troubleshoot issues and provide recommendations for remediation.
  • Demonstrate sound judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
  • Completes work as assigned.
  • Participate in customer testing, as needed, for new technology or changes to existing.
  • Provide after-hours or weekend support as needed.
  • Demonstrate an ability to work independently.
  • Adhere to all the industry level and organization level compliance rules and regulations to maintain data integrity.
  • Complete task assignments using department ticketing/productivity systems within assigned deadline.
  • Achieve organizational and individual goals as identified in performance reviews and goal setting exercises.
  • Complete all special projects and other duties as assigned.
  • Must be able to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodation.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent work experience.
  • 8+ years of working knowledge of big data / cloud technologies (Databricks, AWS, Azure, Hadoop, Spark, Snowflake etc.).
  • Experienced in implementing data pipelines with data engineering best practices in SQL, Spark and Scala, implementation in a Databricks environment a plus.
  • 8+ years of data analysis. Preferably in the Healthcare industry of enrollment, medical claims and/or pharmacy claims.
  • Any Databricks / AWS certifications is a big plus.
  • Strong SQL and data modeling skills.
  • Experience with data pipeline orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow, Databricks Workflows).
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite applications PowerPoint, Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Flexible work schedule.
  • Experience with project management tools like JIRA.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Excellent verbal, listening and written communication skills.

  • Must be able to provide a dedicated, secure work area.
  • Must be able to provide high-speed internet access / connectivity and office setup and maintenance.

Base compensation ranges from $140,000 to $165,000 per year. Specific offers are determined by various factors, such as experience, education, skills, certifications, and other business needs. This role is eligible for discretionary bonus consideration.
