Senior Risk Data Analyst
Overview
The Senior Risk Data Analyst is responsible for delivering data-driven insights that strengthen risk management, compliance oversight, and operational performance. This role partners closely with Risk, Compliance, Underwriting, Product, and Operations teams to develop reporting, analytics, and automation solutions that support informed decision-making across the payments lifecycle.
The ideal candidate combines strong analytical and technical skills with experience working in payments, fintech, or financial services environments.
Key Responsibilities
Analytics & Reporting
Develop and maintain dashboards, KPIs, and reporting related to fraud, return rates, chargebacks, transaction performance, and compliance metrics.
Analyze large datasets to identify trends, anomalies, and emerging risks.
Deliver recurring and ad hoc reporting to business leaders and stakeholders.
Translate complex findings into clear, actionable recommendations.
Risk & Compliance Support
Support monitoring of merchant performance, portfolio health, and transaction risk indicators.
Provide analytical support for compliance reviews, audits, testing programs, and regulatory reporting.
Partner with underwriting and risk teams to identify opportunities for improved controls and decision-making.
Automation & Process Improvement
Build and enhance automated reporting, workflows, and data processes.
Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to improve data infrastructure and monitoring capabilities.
Support the development of risk monitoring tools, alerts, and decisioning frameworks.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with business stakeholders to understand reporting and analytics needs.
Translate business requirements into scalable data solutions.
Present insights and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Qualifications
Required
Bachelor's degree in Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in data analytics, risk analytics, business intelligence, or financial services analytics.
Strong experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms.
Ability to analyze large datasets and communicate insights effectively.
Strong problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred
Experience in payments, fintech, banking, or financial services.
Familiarity with ACH, NACHA rules, transaction monitoring, or payments risk management.
Proficiency with SQL, Python, or similar analytical tools.
Experience with automation, data pipelines, or business intelligence platforms.
Exposure to fraud analytics, risk modeling, or compliance reporting.
