As a remote-based counselor, you’ll conduct therapy sessions using virtual communication tools tailored for mental health professionals. Our clinic utilizes a secure electronic health record (EHR) system to manage patient information and treatment plans efficiently. The remote environment fosters flexibility, allowing you to balance your professional and personal life while maintaining high standards of client care.

As a Mental Health Counselor, you will:

• Conduct initial assessments to evaluate the mental health status of clients and determine appropriate treatment needs.
• Develop and implement personalized treatment plans incorporating evidence-based therapies and techniques.
• Facilitate regular therapy sessions with clients to discuss their progress, challenges, and life situations.
• Provide clients with coping strategies and tools to manage their mental health effectively.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including psychiatrists and family physicians, to ensure comprehensive care.
• Maintain detailed and accurate records of therapy sessions, treatment plans, and client progress in our EHR system.
• Engage in ongoing professional development, including participation in training and workshops, to continually enhance your skills and knowledge.

Your work will focus on a diverse array of clients dealing with various mental health issues such as depression, anxiety, trauma, and substance abuse. By employing culturally responsive methods, you will provide inclusive treatment options tailored to meet the unique needs of each individual, ensuring that all clients feel seen, heard, and understood.

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

• A master’s or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• A valid and active license as an LMFT, LPC, or LCSW in New York State.
• A minimum of two years of direct clinical experience in a mental health setting.
• A strong understanding of various mental health disorders and treatment modalities.
• Proven ability to deliver both individual and group therapy effectively, with a focus on cultural competence.
• Exceptional communication skills and the ability to develop rapport with clients from varied backgrounds.
• Strong crisis intervention capabilities and the ability to make sound decisions in high-pressure situations.

While not required, the following are preferred experiences that would enhance your application:

• Experience working within a telehealth model or remote therapy setting.
• Familiarity with trauma-informed care practices.
• Previous involvement in program development or implementation within a mental health context.

This position offers a competitive salary ranging from USD 80,000 to 100,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
