Position Overview

Pavilion Psychotherapy Services is seeking a dedicated and skilled Licensed Mental Health Counselor for a full-time, remote position. This role requires a candidate who is not only experienced in providing mental health care but also exhibits empathy and a genuine desire to help clients navigate their mental and emotional challenges. The successful candidate will be adept at conducting comprehensive mental health evaluations, formulating personalized treatment plans, and actively participating in both individual and group therapy sessions.

About the Organization

Pavilion Psychotherapy Services is a forward-thinking outpatient mental health practice located in Portland, Oregon. Our mission is to promote emotional well-being and mental health resilience among our clients through a compassionate and evidence-based approach. Our team consists of dedicated mental health professionals committed to providing the highest standard of care in a collaborative environment. We prioritize continuous professional development, ensuring our counselors remain at the forefront of therapeutic techniques and practices.

Work Environment

This position is entirely remote, allowing for flexibility in your work schedule while ensuring you can maintain an optimal work-life balance. Although remote, our team fosters a supportive virtual environment where counselors can collaborate effectively with colleagues and share insights on patient care. You will have access to the latest tools and technologies to help manage your therapy sessions and client documentation efficiently.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough initial assessments through preliminary interviews, synthesizing information to form a comprehensive understanding of each client's unique mental, emotional, and behavioral health.
  • Evaluate clients on an ongoing basis, identifying shifts in their mental health status and adjusting treatment plans accordingly.
  • Develop tailored intervention strategies for individuals, couples, families, and groups, ensuring that your approach aligns with the latest evidence-based practices.
  • Facilitate engaging and therapeutic individual and group therapy sessions, utilizing modern techniques and methodologies to foster client growth.
  • Monitor treatment progress by regularly reviewing and documenting client advancements or setbacks throughout their therapeutic journey.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, including psychiatrists, social workers, and medical doctors, to ensure holistic care for clients, and manage referrals effectively.
  • Stay proactive in follow-ups with any clients who may require hospitalization, coordinating care with attending physicians and psychiatrists.
  • Identify and mitigate any behaviors or situations that may inhibit a clientโ€™s recovery, employing strong analytical and therapeutic skills.
  • Support family members and primary caregivers in understanding and managing their loved oneโ€™s mental health challenges, emphasizing education and communication.
Patient Population / Client Focus

You will work closely with a diverse clientele, which includes individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, addiction issues, and other mental health disorders. This role demands a compassionate approach as you guide clients through their emotional landscapes with care and respect. Your contributions directly support their healing and empower them to lead fulfilling lives.

Qualifications
  • A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) within the state of Oregon.
  • A successful score on relevant examinations such as the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
  • Demonstrated experience in a similar counseling role, showcasing a comprehensive understanding of mental health principles.
  • Proficiency in utilizing electronic health record systems, such as AVATAR, to manage therapeutic documentation and client records.
  • A solid understanding of the interplay between physical health, emotional well-being, and addiction disorders for a holistic treatment approach.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, vital for effective client interactions and documentation.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience working within a remote healthcare setting, providing counseling services through teletherapy platforms.
  • Familiarity with the best practices outlined by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).
  • A deep understanding of psychotropic medications and their effects as prescribed by medical professionals.
Compensation and Benefits

The salary for this position ranges from USD 80,000 to USD 100,000 annually, with the potential for additional compensation through a sign-on bonus.
