Theoria's Legal and Compliance Departments are seeking individuals to join its team to assist with healthcare regulatory compliance, contract management, risk mitigation strategies, policy development, legal research, and providing administrative support to attorneys and staff, all while ensuring adherence to relevant laws and regulations.

Shift Structure

  • Monday through Friday, 40 - 50 hours per week
  • 8:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

Administrative Support:

  • Organize and manage files for Compliance and Legal Departments.
  • Perform administrative duties as assigned.

Legal Research and Document Preparation:

  • Conduct legal research related to healthcare compliance, healthcare payer requirements, clinician licensing, and other applicable state and federal laws.
  • Assist with the preparation of contract templates, policies and procedures, investigation summaries, legal memoranda and other documents.
  • Creating presentations and documents utilizing appropriate technology with exceptional attention to correct grammar, spelling, and formatting.

Communication and Collaboration:

  • Communicate effectively and professionally with company personnel and third parties, including regulatory representatives.
  • Assist with compliance investigations and other legal matters as assigned.
  • Create and Conduct trainings with company personnel on various legal and compliance topics as assigned.
  • Provide day-to-day assistance to Compliance and Legal departments as needed and as assigned by leadership, attorneys and compliance department.
  • Assist with dispute resolution and litigation matters as assigned.

General Essential Requirements:

  • Timely and regular attendance required.
  • Some travel (minimal) may be required for trial/arbitration/litigation assistance.
  • Must be able to utilize, with minimal assistance, technology platforms related to the work of the law department, such as: Monday.com, slack, the Google Suite, excel, MS Office products, github, internal web-based intranet and other web-products.
  • Must be able to work independently and meet deadlines.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to lift or move at 20 lbs.
  • Continuous operation of app-based programs (monday.com, google suite of docs) and other web or technology-based programs and applications.
  • Effectively communicate with Company clients, partners, vendors, and colleagues.
  • Must be able to type at least 50 wpm and spend extended periods of time in front of a computer screen and utilizing personal computer.
  • Must have access to reliable transportation if needed for filings or documents requiring use of external post office or mailing services.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • 10 years minimum combined experience with transactional healthcare paralegal work and project management
  • Excellent proofreading and typing skills required
  • Prior experience working in a law firm or for litigators required
  • Must be extremely organized and detail oriented
  • Must be comfortable working on one's own and with little direction or supervision
  • Familiarity with Google suite of applications strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with document review software and processes strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with Healthcare regulations and physician and APP licensing preferred
