• Conduct thorough mental health assessments for elderly residents to determine their specific emotional and psychological care needs.
• Provide individual and group counseling sessions, addressing various emotional challenges, including depression, anxiety, and grief related to aging and life transitions.
• Work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare practitioners to develop and implement comprehensive care plans that prioritize the mental health needs of geriatric clients.
• Educate family members and staff on the best practices to promote emotional well-being and improve the overall quality of life for older adults.
• Facilitate grief and loss counseling sessions for residents and their families coping with end-of-life issues, creating a supportive environment for open discussions.
• Implement cognitive stimulation strategies, workshops, and mental health interventions aimed at enhancing mental acuity and engagement among elderly clients.

This role focuses on providing mental health counseling specifically to seniors facing a range of psychological challenges associated with aging, including loss, transitions in living situations, and the emotional impact of chronic health conditions. • A Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling from an accredited institution.
• Current and valid Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) credential in the state of Florida.

• A track record of utilizing evidence-based therapeutic interventions to improve mental well-being in seniors.
