Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough assessments and evaluations of clients to develop individualized therapy strategies that meet their unique needs.
  • Deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions to individuals, couples, families, and groups, ensuring a comprehensive approach to mental health care.
  • Utilize a range of therapeutic modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), psychodynamic therapy, and solution-focused therapy, tailored to each client.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation while adhering to ethical standards and legal regulations.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals and support staff to provide holistic patient care and follow up on progress.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development by attending workshops and training sessions to stay informed on the latest mental health research and methodologies.
Patient Population / Client Focus

As an LPC at Prevail Counseling Center, you will work with a diverse patient population, including individuals facing anxiety, depression, trauma, and substance use disorders. Qualifications
  • A Master's or Doctoral degree in Counseling, Psychology, or a related field is required.
  • Active and unrestricted licensure as a Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Virginia.
  • A minimum of two years of relevant counseling experience, preferably in a clinical setting.
  • Strong foundation in legal and ethical frameworks surrounding mental health practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with a diverse clientele.

  • Proficient in using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) software and other relevant technologies.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience or specialization in family therapy, couples counseling, trauma-informed care, or substance misuse treatment is highly preferred.
