Position: Government & Public Policy Expert
Type: Contract
Compensation: $50–$60/hour
Location: Remote

Role Responsibilities

  • Design realistic public-sector scenarios and tasks from your experience. Focus on policy options analysis, decision memos, and briefing papers for senior officials.
  • Build and review regulatory work products. Include proposed and final rule text, regulatory impact discussion, and compliance determinations.
  • Create procurement and contracting exercises based on real practice. Develop requirements, RFP/solicitation, and evaluation criteria.
  • Develop program and grants management tasks. Cover notices of funding opportunity, application review, and performance measurement.
  • Author budget and appropriations tasks. Include budget justifications, spend plans, and fiscal-law issues.
  • Draft legislative affairs materials. Prepare bill analysis, fiscal notes, and testimony.
  • Review AI-generated outputs for accuracy and completeness. Identify errors and improve model reasoning.
  • Provide structured feedback to refine evaluation rubrics and raise quality standards.

Qualifications

Must-Have

  • 3+ years of professional experience in government, public policy, or regulatory affairs.
  • Experience in federal, state, local, tribal, and agency-adjacent roles.
  • Depth in policy analysis, rulemaking, procurement, program management, budget, or legislative affairs.
  • Command of the administrative process and stakeholder dynamics.
  • Excellent written communication for decision-makers.
  • Attention to detail and citation discipline.

Preferred

  • A relevant credential or degree (MPP, MPA, JD, CFCM/CPCM, PMP, or comparable).
