Job Description

The Sr. Account Director is a senior client leader and strategic partner who brings rigor, empathy, and excellence to every aspect of account management. You are deeply fluent in client service, brand strategy, and integrated marketing, with a sharp eye for quality and a strong respect for the craft of the work.

In this role, you lead key client relationships, drive strategic initiatives, and guide cross-functional teams to deliver thoughtful, effective, and high-quality work. You balance big-picture thinking with hands-on leadership ensuring projects move forward seamlessly while aligning to broader brand and business objectives.

You are comfortable leading day-to-day client engagement, shaping briefs, presenting work, and navigating complex dynamics, while partnering closely with senior leadership to evolve long-term account strategy and growth.

What You'll Do

Client Leadership & Account Management

  • Serve as the senior day-to-day client lead across assigned account(s)

  • Build strong, trusted client relationships rooted in transparency, accountability, and results

  • Lead client communications, status, and key deliverables with confidence and clarity

  • Support scope development, timelines, and overall account health in partnership with leadership

  • Anticipate client needs, proactively solve problems, and navigate challenges with professionalism

  • Contribute to identifying and driving organic growth opportunities within account(s)

Strategy & Work Leadership

  • Translate client goals into clear, actionable strategies and integrated plans

  • Partner with strategy and creative teams to develop work that is both strategically grounded and creatively compelling

  • Ensure all deliverables align with brand objectives and deliver measurable impact

  • Lead development of briefs, presentations, and key strategic outputs

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead and mentor account team members, fostering growth, accountability, and strong performance

  • Provide clear direction, constructive feedback, and support across projects

  • Stay close to the work-reviewing, guiding, and elevating while empowering the team

  • Model strong client communication, collaboration, and problem-solving behaviors

Operations & Financial Management

  • Manage project scopes, timelines, and budgets to ensure work is delivered on time and on budget

  • Monitor scope creep and flag risks proactively, partnering with leadership on solutions

  • Support forecasting and resource planning efforts

  • Maintain strong operational discipline across all workstreams

Collaboration & Integration

  • Partner closely with cross-functional teams (both internally and externally) to ensure seamless execution

  • Foster a collaborative, solutions-oriented environment across internal and external partners

  • Ensure alignment across teams and consistency across all touchpoints

Qualifications

Qualifications & Experience

  • 8-10+ years of experience in fast-paced agency environments

  • 3-5+ years of experience leading teams and managing direct reports

  • Proven success in Account Director or Sr. Account Director roles

  • Experience managing complex, integrated accounts (retainer and/or project-based)

  • Strong client management and communication skills

  • Demonstrated ability to lead multiple workstreams and priorities simultaneously

  • Experience contributing to account growth and long-term planning

  • Strong presenter with the ability to communicate ideas clearly and persuasively

  • Solid financial acumen and understanding of scopes, budgets, and resourcing

  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail
