Responsibilities

  • Support user research initiatives focused on game players by uncovering player behaviors, habits, motivations, emotions, and experience needs to generate actionable insights that inform game design and product development.
  • Assist with user research across a variety of game products using diverse research methods, including but not limited to expanding player recruitment channels, survey design and analysis, participant recruitment, user interviews, and playtest coordination and execution.
  • Work closely with product development teams to provide professional user research insights and recommendations that support game design decisions, while tracking and helping resolve user experience issues throughout the development process.
  • Stay informed about emerging trends in the gaming and entertainment industries, immerse yourself in games and player communities, and contribute market insights and research that support product strategy and decision-making.

Qualifications

  • Passionate about video games with a strong understanding of the North American gaming market and player behaviors. Candidates with at least three months of experience playing and familiarity with PC shooters (e.g. Marvel Rivals) or MMORPGs (e.g. Where Winds Meet) are preferred.
  • Experience conducting surveys and/or user interviews, with a genuine passion for engaging with users and the ability to derive meaningful insights from player behaviors, verbal feedback, and motivations. A background in Psychology, Sociology, Anthropology, Communication, Statistics, User Research, Computer Science, or other related disciplines is preferred.
  • Strong sense of ownership and responsibility. Available to intern at least three days per week for a minimum of three months. Candidates who can commit to six months are preferred.
  • Strong interest in the latest AI technologies and applications. Familiar with at least two AI tools (such as Claude, Codex, etc.) to support learning or work, with a solid understanding of AI tools and their practical applications.
  • Flexible and dependable, with the ability to adjust working hours as business needs require in order to collaborate effectively across China Standard Time (CST).
  • Fluent in English, with the ability to conduct user interviews, facilitate in-depth discussions, and collaborate effectively with global teams.
