Job Overview:

We are seeking a knowledgeable baseball fan to serve as aย FREELANCEย Live Game Researcherย to provide remote, real-time statistical support during live baseball games - including pre and postgame shows. This role will utilize internal and external tools and websites to produce broadcast quality content that will be sent directly to graphics operators, directors and talent via instant messaging platforms. If you're a baseball fanatic with the flexibility to work unconventional hours, we'd love to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ability to quickly and accurately discern information pertaining to MLB games as they happen. Understand what announcers and producers find interesting and grasp how rare an event is using both in-house and external statistical products
  • Provide live, in-game support during MLB games for our client teams. Pre and post-game support required.
  • Maintain composure and professionalism during fast-paced live events
  • Work with a team to best craft easily digestible insights about games in a timely manner for use on live broadcasts

Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of baseball rules, terminology, and gameplayย is required
  • Understanding trends and statistics that MLB broadcasters find relevant
  • As this is a freelance position, hours and schedule will vary by week and month
  • Availability to workย nights, weekends, and holidaysย as dictated by the game schedule Particularly Friday and Saturday evenings
  • Ability to multitask and stay focused in a high-pressure environment
  • Tech-savvy and comfortable with various statistical platforms and websitesย 
  • Previous experience in live sports support, scorekeeping, or sports media a plus

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with live game production, scoring systems, or data entry
  • Background in sports journalism, broadcasting, or analytics
  • Familiarity with platforms like MLB Gameday, Statcast, or similar websites

Salary: $40usd hourlyย

Sportradar intends to offer the selected candidate base pay within this range, dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to experience, qualifications, and location.
