Remote Fractional Business Development information

What is a remote fractional business development professional?

A Remote Fractional Business Development professional is an experienced sales or business growth specialist who works part-time or on a contract basis to help companies generate leads, build partnerships, and increase revenue. Unlike a full-time employee, they typically serve multiple clients and work remotely, providing their expertise for a fraction of the time and cost of a traditional hire. This flexible arrangement allows businesses to access high-level business development skills without committing to a long-term, full-time salary.

How does a remote fractional business development professional typically integrate with existing sales and marketing teams?

As a remote fractional business development professional, you often work part-time or on a contract basis, collaborating closely with in-house sales and marketing teams. Integration usually involves regular virtual meetings, shared project management tools, and ongoing communication to align on goals and strategies. You'll be expected to quickly understand the company's products, target markets, and current pipelines in order to identify new business opportunities. Building strong relationships remotely and adapting to different team cultures are common challenges, but effective communication and proactive updates can help ensure success and seamless collaboration.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote fractional business development professional, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote Fractional Business Development professional, you need strong sales acumen, strategic market analysis skills, and experience in client relationship management, often supported by a background in business or sales and proven success in similar roles. Familiarity with CRM platforms (such as Salesforce or HubSpot), virtual communication tools, and data analysis software is typically required. Exceptional self-motivation, adaptability, and persuasive communication are valuable soft skills for building trust and delivering value remotely. These capabilities are crucial for effectively driving growth and securing new business opportunities in a flexible, virtual environment.

Job description

We're hiring a Business Development Representative to build relationships and connect the right people to the right opportunities — the person in the middle who makes deals happen, across any market.

Summary
  • Flexible Title: Can tailor to reflect your skills & experience.
  • Flexible Time: Can do full-time, part-time, side-gig (off-hours), or fractional (contract).
  • Flexible Commitment: Can do short-term, long-term, or intermittent.
  • No specific industry required. If you can build relationships and connect buyers and sellers, the market doesn't matter — real estate, business, capital, services, we want the connector.

Why so flexible? We're a FUNDED startup racing to launch end of Q3 2026. That gives us just 3 months to stack features while raising additional working capital. Feel free to jump in, help us ship, then bounce >> or stick around. A successful launch translates into lots of permanent jobs for those that want them. We're also interested in long-term "side gig" relationships, if that's what you're into—in our experience, a few expert hours often beat full-time learning-curve hours.

About Us

We're a credible, funded, remote-first startup backed by a growing team. We're pre-launch and moving fast — building the kind of relationship-driven deal network that connects people who have something with people who want it.

About The Role

Some people are natural connectors. They're the ones who always seem to know "a guy," who remember that two people they met months apart should really talk, who are comfortable sitting in the middle of a deal and making sure both sides win. That's the person we're hiring.

This isn't a niche, single-industry seat — it's a relationship-maker role. Whether the deal is real estate, a business changing hands, capital looking for a home, or a service provider looking for clients, the skill is the same: build trust, understand what each side actually needs, and connect them. You'll be the person who develops relationships on both sides of the market and turns "I know someone who..." into real, tracked opportunities.

This is part business development, part matchmaking, part relationship management. If you're the type who builds a network everywhere you go, who's comfortable working a deal from both ends, and who gets energy from being the connection that made something happen, this is your seat.

Compensation

Up to $120,000+ OTE (base plus uncapped commission) for full-time performers; cash, commission, and equity components to be negotiated. Given the flexible commitment model, comp will be structured accordingly — fractional, hourly, or performance-only arrangements welcome for the right relationships and deal flow.

What You'll Do in Your First 7 Days
  • You've reviewed how we build relationships, source opportunities, and track deals today
  • You've gotten access to our CRM and communication tools and mapped where contacts and deals live
  • You've made your first round of outreach and follow-up to warm and new contacts
  • You've attended your first team standup and understand how a relationship becomes a tracked opportunity
  • The team knows who you are, why you're here, and how you'll work together
What You'll Do Ongoing
  • Build relationships on both sides — develop trust with buyers and sellers (or the equivalent) so you're the person they call
  • Connect the right people — sit in the middle, understand what each side needs, and make introductions that turn into deals
  • Source opportunities — find people with something to offer and people who want it, across whatever markets have momentum
  • Run phone-first outreach and follow-up — consistent, genuine follow-up is where relationships and deals actually come from
  • Move opportunities forward — take a relationship from first contact toward a real, working deal, coordinating with the team
  • Keep the network and pipeline clean — log contacts, conversations, and status so nothing and no one falls through the cracks
What We're Looking For

Must-haves:

  • Experience in business development, sales, brokering, partnerships, or any relationship-driven role where you connected two sides
  • Relationship-driven — you build trust fast and keep it; you're the connector people remember
  • Comfortable in the middle of a deal — you can represent both sides' interests and keep everyone moving
  • Phone-comfortable — you'd rather call than email, and you're good at it
  • Organized and self-directed — you keep your own network and follow-up tight without daily check-ins

Nice-to-have:

  • An existing network you actively work across one or more markets (real estate, business/M&A, capital, services, etc.)
  • Experience brokering, connecting, or matchmaking deals of any kind
  • Familiarity with CRM tools (and the discipline to actually use one)
  • Comfortable in fast-moving, ambiguous environments
What You're NOT
  • Not a single-industry specialist — the market doesn't matter here; the relationship skill does
  • Not a cold-script reader — this is genuine relationship building, not a call center
  • Not a solo shop — you'll work with a team and warm systems, not build a network from zero alone
