Remote Formal Verification information

What is remote formal verification?

Remote formal verification refers to the process of using mathematical techniques and specialized software tools to rigorously prove the correctness of hardware or software systems, typically while working from a remote location. Unlike traditional testing, formal verification provides guarantees about system behavior by checking against formal specifications. Professionals in this field often collaborate with teams online, review code or hardware designs, and use tools such as model checkers or theorem provers to identify and eliminate potential errors before deployment.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote formal verification engineer?

To thrive as a Remote Formal Verification Engineer, you need expertise in digital design, formal methods, and verification methodologies, usually supported by a degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or computer science. Familiarity with formal verification tools like JasperGold, Questa Formal, or OneSpin, and proficiency in hardware description languages (HDLs) such as Verilog or VHDL are critical. Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and clear communication are standout soft skills, especially when collaborating remotely with global teams. These skills and qualifications are essential to ensure that complex hardware designs are reliable, bug-free, and meet stringent industry standards.

What are some common challenges faced by remote formal verification engineers, and how can they be addressed?

Remote formal verification engineers often face challenges related to effective collaboration and communication, as formal verification requires close coordination with design and verification teams. Working across time zones and relying on digital tools can make it harder to quickly resolve ambiguities in specifications or debug issues. To address these challenges, it’s essential to establish clear documentation practices, schedule regular video meetings, and actively participate in code reviews and knowledge-sharing sessions. Leveraging collaborative platforms and maintaining open communication channels can help mitigate the impact of physical distance and ensure project goals are met efficiently.

What is the difference between Remote Formal Verification vs Remote Hardware Verification?

AspectRemote Formal VerificationRemote Hardware Verification
CredentialsTypically requires degrees in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering, plus certifications in formal methodsRequires degrees in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related fields; certifications may include FPGA or ASIC design
Work EnvironmentPrimarily focused on software tools, modeling, and mathematical proofs, often in a remote settingInvolves testing and validation of hardware prototypes or designs, often in labs or remotely via simulation tools
Industry UsageUsed in semiconductor, aerospace, and safety-critical software industriesCommon in semiconductor, electronics manufacturing, and embedded systems industries

Remote Formal Verification focuses on mathematically proving the correctness of hardware or software designs using formal methods, often in a software-centric environment. Remote Hardware Verification involves testing physical hardware or simulations to ensure hardware functions correctly. Both roles require technical expertise but differ in their focus on software proofs versus hardware testing.

Job description

Overview

Together, We Enhance Innovation and Growth

i2G specializes in advanced physical electronic security and life safety solutions. I2G has proven experience in surveillance, access control, and intrusion detection systems, biometrics, fence sensors, radars, ground sensors, anti-drone technologies, and more. We excel in design, project management, commissioning, and enterprise technology integrations.

i2G's mission is to provide the products and services that meet our customers' needs to give them a vital advantage in today's market, helping to protect what matters most.

We are seeking an experienced Remote Security Project Manager to take full ownership and remote leadership of low-voltage security integration projects for a dedicated national account. In this role, you will lead multidisciplinary teams-including internal installation technicians, integration engineers, and specialized subcontractors-delivering Access Control Systems (ACS), Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS), CCTV, intercoms, and integrated property technology systems.

As the project champion, you will drive project governance, financial health, and operational excellence across the entire project lifecycle. You will serve as the primary strategic and operational liaison between internal cross-functional teams (Sales, Engineering, Operations) and external stakeholders (National Clients, General Contractors, and associated trades) to ensure scopes are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Responsibilities
  • End-to-End Project Leadership: Own the planning, execution, and closeout of concurrent electronic security installations, driving accountability across all milestones, schedules, and deliverables.
  • Stakeholder & Client Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for key national account stakeholders and General Contractors, leading regular status reviews, technical discussions, and executive progress reporting.
  • Resource & Subcontractor Oversight: Direct, evaluate, and hold accountable field installation technicians, integration engineers, and subcontractor partners to ensure safety, technical compliance, and adherence to i2G standards.
  • Financial & Scope Governance: Manage project budgets, monitor labor and material expenditures, control billing milestones, and actively protect project profit margins through proactive change order and risk management.
  • Technical Quality & Compliance: Interpret and validate complex architectural, electrical, civil, and security design packages; oversee accurate as-built/red-line documentation and technical programming workflows.
  • Risk Mitigation & Issue Resolution: Proactively identify project bottlenecks, manage Requests for Information (RFIs), resolve site conflicts quickly, and implement contingency plans to eliminate schedule slippage.
  • Pre-Sales & Estimating Support: Partner with Sales and System Engineering to review scopes of work (SOWs), evaluate technical feasibility, and assist in proposal development as needed.
  • Field Verification & Site Audits: Travel to client sites to lead project kick-offs, conduct comprehensive quality assurance audits, and execute formal commissioning and closeout.
  • Other duties as required and assigned for business need.
Qualifications
  • 4-6 years of progressive project management experience within the commercial electronic security or low-voltage systems integration industry.
  • Demonstrated background managing access control systems (ACS), video surveillance (CCTV), intrusion detection (IDS), intercoms, and broader property technology infrastructure.
  • Proven track record managing project financials, resource allocation, and multi-tier subcontractor teams.
  • Proficiency with project management and scheduling platforms (e.g., MS Project, Smartsheet, SimPRO) and enterprise office suites.
  • Strong blueprint literacy with the ability to read and interpret detailed security, electrical, and structural drawings.
  • High degree of communication acumen, with experience managing client expectations at both the site and corporate levels.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to pass required background screenings.
  • Willingness and ability to travel (50%-75%) to support project milestones, quality inspections, and handoffs.
Other Eligibility Requirements
  • Active manufacturer or platform certifications in enterprise security platforms (e.g., Lenel OnGuard, Software House CCURE, Axis, Verint, Commend, DMP).
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent formal PM credential.
  • Working familiarity with life safety/fire system integrations
