About the Role

The FP&A (or Business Control) team is responsible for providing financial planning and analysis (FP&A) for business strategy, focusing on development and execution, operational performance improvement, and business performance review.

The Senior Financial Analyst will partner with senior leadership within Ossur's Bracing & Supports strategic business unit to deliver recurring and ad hoc reporting and analytics for business unit leadership, as well as leading and executing on global initiatives. This role will include ownership and responsibility for accurate forecasting, full P&L analytics and reporting, strategy development and execution, business case preparation, and scenario modeling. We are looking for an individual who enjoys learning, continuous improvement, and structuring and analyzing data in a manner that tells a story to business stakeholders to drive impactful insights.

What You'll Do

Knowledge and Complexity

  • Acts as the "go to" person for analytics, data modeling, and financial figures

  • Demonstrates a comprehensive understanding of business operations, financial processes, and company products/services.

  • Uses in-depth knowledge of finance to enhance the business unit's performance and provide valuable insights.

  • Exercises broad discretion over work deliverables and performance expectations, ensuring high-quality outputs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Owns planning and forecasting process from topline net sales to full P&L for all or part of the Bracing & Supports business unit.

  • Helps lead the execution of key initiatives (e.g. process improvements, cost reduction, sales analytics, finance operating model execution, and data-driven insights).

  • Uses financial models to assess tactical initiatives and support strategic decision-making.

  • Continuously challenges the status quo and seek optimal way of supporting the business needs.

  • Shares strong opinions and perspectives on analyses and performance - has a voice in the room.

  • Focuses on learning and understanding the business and its stakeholders, builds trust as a valued partner to the business.

  • Analyzes and reports on full Profit & Loss (P&L) variances for the consolidated business unit, function, or region.

  • Creates and maintains management reports, such as operational and business review reports, to track the performance of the business unit.

  • Evaluates historical business performance, identifying opportunities for cost savings and revenue growth.

  • Communicates proactively with the team, delivering analyses and preparing presentations to explain financial developments and project outcomes.

  • Collaborates directly with stakeholders as a business partner, developing work products and analyses to inform well-documented business decisions.

  • Partners with cross-functional teams in the organization to understand business questions and requirements, and prioritize business needs.

  • Mines and manages data from relational databases and systems, ensuring high data integrity and resolving reporting errors.

  • Works independently under limited supervision, often taking the lead on assigned workstreams and projects, acting as a key finance business partner for stakeholders.

  • Serves as the primary resource within the business unit for addressing stakeholder needs and challenging business assumptions.

  • The position may include managing processes or projects, and leading, planning, assigning, and reviewing the progress and accuracy of others' work.

Who You Are

  • Bachelor's degree required, focus in Finance, Business, Accounting, or a related field recommended.

  • 4+ years of relevant experience related to financial analysis, including prior financial reporting and analysis (FP&A), Investment Banking, Financial Modeling, and/or Management Consulting

  • Prior experience in medical device, life sciences, healthcare, or healthcare technology preferred

  • Business acumen & judgment to communicate and influence senior management

  • Solid technical finance skills (accounting, planning, analytics, financial modeling, etc.)

  • Solid overall knowledge of data, financial systems and tools (Excel and PowerPoint proficiency required, experience in Power BI, Anaplan and other coding, data visualization, and forecasting systems a plus)

  • Advanced critical thinking, efficient time management, and focus on learning

The US base pay range for this full-time position is $82,845 - $127,507 + bonus + benefits. Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire pay rates. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
