Position Overview

We are hiring a Sr Financial Analyst. The Sr Financial Analyst will be responsible for analyzing cost of goods sold (COGS) and variances with a deep understanding of operational drivers and standard costing to proactively surface potential issues. The position will work with corporate planning and provide COGS and variance detail for the annual budget and forecast updates.  The role is required to understand the Company's financial policies and procedures to provide appropriate guidance to management. It also requires partnering with cross-functional teams to implement financial best practices, optimize financial processes and systems. Additionally, the position will engage in other assigned projects that are identified by the Cost Accounting Manager and accounting management.

Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze production variances and provide monthly flux commentary. Understand cause of variances, root causes and determine counter measures.
  • Analyze various COGS accounts versus budget/forecast; proactively identify opportunities for improvement and propose corrective actions.
  • Assist with annual cost roll.
  • Prepare journal entries and assist with month end activities.
  • Prepare various monthly financial reports for review, submission, and distribution.
  • Contribute to the preparation of the annual budget and twice-yearly forecasts.
  • Assist in the preparation of key presentations to the management.
  • Work cross-functionally to understand and gather financial data from multiple teams and summarize findings.
  • Identifies system and process improvement opportunities and automate processes wherever possible.
  • Performs various ad-hoc requests and analysis

Required Skills/Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance or relevant equivalent experience required
  • Two to four year's consecutive experience in financial analysis/Ops Finance or other equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of standard cost experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be detail oriented and organized
  • Experience using ERP system. SAP a huge plus.
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft office: Excel, PowerPoint Word, and Outlook.
  • Proficiency in analysis, financial detailing and standard cost accounting.
  • Good knowledge of the General Accepted Accounting Principles.
  • Must be proficient with using PC operating system functions.
  • Must have exceptional attention to detail and quality
  • Ability to speak and read English.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate with internal customers in a professional manner.

Salary and Benefits:

  • For California, the base salary range for this position is $88,400- $115,000. Compensation for the successful candidate will depend on various factors (e.g., qualifications, education, prior experience, location, etc.).
