Equivity is seeking an experienced Probate & Trust Administration Paralegal to support attorneys with active estate administration matters.

This role is ideal for someone who has hands-on experience managing probate and trust administration from start to finish, including court filings, deadlines, and coordination with clients and third parties. You will work directly with attorneys on active caseloads, helping ensure matters move efficiently from initial filing through final distribution.

In this role, you will work as part of a dedicated, long-term team of legal professionals, partnering directly with attorneys while being fully supported by Equivity’s internal operations and leadership.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and file probate petitions, inventories, accountings, and related court documents
  • Support probate matters from initial filing through final distribution, ensuring all required steps are completed
  • Track and manage court deadlines, filing requirements, and case milestones across multiple active matters
  • Assist with trust administration, including asset identification, valuation tracking, and distribution coordination
  • Communicate with clients, courts, financial institutions, and third parties to gather information and move matters forward
  • Coordinate and organize supporting documentation, including financial records, asset statements, and beneficiary information
  • Monitor case progress and follow up on outstanding items to help keep matters on track
  • Maintain organized case files and ensure all documentation is accurate, complete, and accessible
  • Work closely with attorneys to anticipate next steps and ensure smooth progression of each matter
About You

  • Minimum 3 years of probate & trust administration experience
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Strong familiarity with probate filings and court procedures
  • Experience in estate planning or elder law a plus
  • Minimum availability of 20 hours/week
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Adobe
  • Experience with Clio or similar systems is a plus
  • Availability during standard business hours (9:00 AM – 6:00 PM)
  • Windows-based computer preferred
  • Availability and responsiveness within 1 hour during standard business hours (9:00 AM – 6:00 PM)
