IMSolutions is seeking an Acquisition SME III to support a future opportunity with a federal agency anticipated to begin in September 2026.

Employment Type: Full-Time
Location: Remote/Hybrid as authorized by the Government and Company as requested by the government.

Position Summary

The Acquisition SME III serves as a senior-level acquisition authority and trusted advisor, providing expert guidance and strategic leadership across the full federal acquisition lifecycle. This position supports complex, high-risk, and high-visibility acquisition programs and initiatives, ensuring compliance with federal regulations while advancing agency mission objectives.

The Acquisition SME III will provide expert assistance in acquisition planning, source selection, proposal evaluation, cost and price analysis, contract administration, performance management, and contract closeout. This role requires extensive experience interpreting and applying the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), developing acquisition policies and procedures, and advising senior government leadership on acquisition strategies and procurement solutions.

These functions include:

· Provide expert acquisition support throughout all phases of the federal acquisition lifecycle.

· Lead acquisition planning activities, including acquisition strategy development, market research, procurement forecasting, and solicitation planning.

· Advise government leadership on complex acquisition, procurement, and contracting matters.

· Conduct and oversee proposal evaluations, including technical, management, cost, price, and past performance assessments.

· Perform and review cost and price analyses to determine cost realism, reasonableness, and compliance with acquisition requirements.

· Support and advise source selection teams throughout the evaluation and award process.

· Develop acquisition plans, source selection plans, procurement strategies, and solicitation packages.

· Prepare acquisition-related policies, procedures, guidance documents, templates, and best practices.

· Interpret and apply the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), agency supplements, and procurement policies to complex acquisition scenarios.

· Support contract administration activities, including modifications, performance monitoring, risk management, and compliance reviews.

· Assist in developing contractor performance metrics and evaluating contract performance.

· Lead and support contract closeout activities in accordance with applicable regulations and agency requirements.

· Conduct independent reviews and assessments of acquisition programs, policies, and procurement processes.

· Identify acquisition risks and develop mitigation strategies for complex procurement actions.

· Analyze acquisition operations and recommend process improvements to enhance effectiveness, efficiency, and compliance.

· Develop reports, executive briefings, white papers, issue papers, and acquisition recommendations for senior officials.

· Participate in acquisition review boards, procurement management reviews, and executive-level meetings.

· Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to acquisition teams and junior personnel.

· Support audits, Inspector General reviews, procurement management reviews, and compliance assessments.

· Research emerging acquisition trends, regulatory changes, and procurement innovations to support organizational objectives.

· Coordinate with contracting officers, program managers, legal counsel, financial personnel, and executive stakeholders.

· Support strategic sourcing, category management, and acquisition reform initiatives.

· Perform additional acquisition advisory and consulting services as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

· Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Acquisition Management, Public Administration, Contract Management, Finance, Accounting, Supply Chain Management, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

· Fifteen (15) or more years of progressively responsible experience supporting federal acquisition, procurement, and contracting activities.

· Extensive experience supporting and advising on the full acquisition lifecycle.

· Demonstrated experience supporting large, complex, and high-visibility federal procurement programs.

· Expert-level knowledge of acquisition planning, source selection, contract administration, performance management, and contract closeout.

· Comprehensive knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and agency-specific acquisition regulations.

· Proven experience advising executive leadership on acquisition strategy and procurement matters.

· Exceptional analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

· Strong written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
